The neighborhood where Aurelio's Artpartment is located is called Santa Lucia, better known as the Borgata neighborhood, which together with Ortigia are the oldest neighborhoods and which preserve the true identity of Syracuse. You can find a square from which the neighborhood takes its name, which today is the largest in size in Syracuse. Overlooking this square we find the Church and the tomb which saw the martyrdom and killing of the fellow citizen who later became the patron saint of the city. The square, which is 500m from the house, is often the scene of concerts and events organized by important organizations such as Amnesty International or Legambiente. In summer, however, on Monday evenings you can attend the "Open-Air Cinema". The Borgata is currently the only neighborhood in Syracuse where it is still pleasant to walk. Because if Ortigia is becoming increasingly "globalised" and the areas to the north are more chaotic, the Borgata has remained an area on a human scale. An area where on foot or with a stroller you can observe the beauty of the detail, the merchant folklore, the typical extravagance of some local "natives".
