Really enjoyed our stay. Some of the reviews had us worried going into it but the staff were absolutely amazing. This is coming from two Canadians travelling there early December.

Property info

Tama Ryokan is not just a small inn, it's also a family home. One of your two hosts (Eiko) was actually born in one of the downstairs rooms. The inn was built in the 1950s, but has seen some additions and changes, mostly in the direction of more modern, Western style decor and amenities. But as you'll see from the interior, it still has an early 20th century Japan feeling to the basic style of the Japanese rooms and hallways.

Neighborhood info

Japan is very safe -- you can go out at any time and not be bothered by anyone. There are lots of restaurants and convenience stores open pretty much all night.
