The owner of Tara Lodge was exceptionally helpful and very friendly. He gave us many recommendations of things to do and places to eat in Kep and organised our onward travel arrangements as well as making dinner reservations for us.
Tara Lodge has beautiful gardens and pool area and it was lovely to be able to sit and enjoy them. We had massages in the garden which were very good. We also ate breakfast next to the pool - which started with fresh fruit and lovely juices.
The bedroom is big with a nice outdoor seating area and sunlounger - lovely place to relax.
From Tara Lodge we were able to take a 10 minute walk down for a drink to watch the sunset and then another 10 min walk to Crab Market which was great and definitely something worth going to.
We had a relaxed stay at Tara Lodge and we enjoyed our short visit to Kep.

The view was beautiful. Sunset, ocean and mountain ⛱️ 🌄 🌇
Punchbag for training is a nice touch.
I loved the wicker beach design in the room, real late 1980s.
Staff(pretty dark haired woman)here was the only person who asked me each day how I was. Good to have follow up and show customer care.
I look forward to seeing this place in a year or two as I can see it's going to be very special

This place is a little slice of heaven! Good sized bungalows set amongst a fabulous lush garden. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the pool is clean and refreshing.
Location is very close to the crab market and national park. However getting around Kep, regardless of where you stay might need a bike or tuk tuk.
I will be back again!

It's not party town so if you want to go for that stick to Thailand.

I loved Kep. We stayed here for 2 days, 1 night. Went to the beach, enjoyed crab at the local restaurants and explored the national park. Kep is a beautiful little seaside village with lots to do. You could easily stay longer than we did.

Quiet little town with no real center.
Quiet little town with no real center. Better staying in the area of the crab market as there is absolutely nothing on the side of the jetty where you take the boat to go to rabbit island.
New restaurant right on the beach "the wave" is really really nice.
It is great to walk in the national park and definitely to spend a day or 2 on Rabbit island. Avoid the "Butterfly farm" as there were NO butterflies at least when we went there.

Kep has always been our go to place for the coast in Cambodia. Nice breezes, adequate beach, sailing when I am up for it.
The Nature preserve up the hill, the pepper plantations and salts flats worth visiting.
The crab is always great and fish as well. Dining on the water and watching the crab fishermen come and go is a great break from Phnom Penh.
As an experience we recommend trying the train from Phnom Penh to Kep at least once. You get to see a lot more of the country side than on the bus.

Of all the cities and villages we went to in Cambodia, Kep...
Of all the cities and villages we went to in Cambodia, Kep was definitely one of our favourites. It was very quiet when we were there (Tuesday thru Saturday), we heard it gets busier on the weekends but can’t really say for sure. It was easy to walk around, there’s a large and beautiful national park that starts in town, the bay, just so many lovely things. Visit the crab market and then go eat. Aim to be at one of the restaurant patios for sunset and crab dinner, freshly caught.
This is a great place for an unhurried stay in a natural environment. Hidden away amongst the trees with chickens running free in the garden and the occasional visit from monkeys there is always entertainment. A good breakfast available from early morning until past midday adds to the charm. Coming from a boutique resort hotel this was a very different experience but very enjoyable when you relax into it. A great place if you believe in low impact sustainable tourism.
This little resort is about 7 to 10min walk to Kep Crab market. So it was convenient visiting every morning or evening to check out the market and have meals. The resort was very interactive and I liked that they regularly check on your bookings and requirements which gave me alot of reassurances. I knew I would be in good hands when staying over. We had a tour bus so we also visited Kampot town about 20km away on one of the days to visit Samaki market and around town.
Jungle house is the best! We extended our stay by 4 days because we loved relaxing here so much. It is super comfortable and cool even in the middle of the day. We have been travelling for a few months and when we arrived in Kep we felt like we were on a holiday within a holiday. Chenda is an amazing host and excellent cook. Both Chenda and Sergei were so kind and helpful, thank you for a perfect stay.
The hotel is perfectly placed for a beach holiday, directly across the road. Not much else around, a short tuk tuk ride to the Crab Market where you can find some lovely restaurants by the sea. Kep is nice to stay if you want a couple of quiet days doing nothing but the beach. Enjoyed sitting outside on the balcony of an evening watching the sun going down. The omelets are lovely at the hotel.
they lie. .. they ask for donations to help poor children in Cambodia and teach English .. cook and sew and it is not true. It is a hotel that asks for help to invest in its own business and the school is not free. Parents with purchasing power can pay a monthly fee for their children to learn English. do not make donations as they will not reach the needy children ... but in their pocket.
Very beautiful resort just 10 mins from Kep Beacb with spacious rooms and lovely pool and restaurant area. The breakfast is delicious and complete, they even have really good bread! The reception staff was very helpful and warm, we came for new year and they even offered to have dinner together and celebrate with them. We stayed 3 nights and had a great time.
For island living this is as simple as it gets. The bungalows are right on the beach facing west so the sun sets over the sea are fabulous. the food and drinks are delicious and the owners and staff are very friendly. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. Electricity (generator) however is limited between sunset and 11.00pm.
There are only 8-10 bungalows in this hotel so it feels nice. The staff is super helpful to organize private cars, tours, give you restaurant recommendations etc... The breakfast is great and served on a terrace with a sea view. Bonus: you're 5 min away (walking) from the Kep Crab Markets and all the restaurants.
the property is so gorgeous, a paradise in the small town of Kep. The owners are so so kind, so welcoming and ready to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious, the AC was cold. Can’t fault the place, if we ever come back to Kep we would 100% come back to the Darica resort.
Room was great (and being woken up by monkeys playing on the roof was..... different). Infinty pool one of the best hotel pools I have come across. Front desk staff really helpful - arranged pick up and return to airports at very comptetitive prices.
Cozy mini-resort run by friendly owners. Mattress firm but comfortable, clean room, parking in the shade available. Pleasant porch with table to enjoy an evening drink. In walking distance to the fabulous Samanea restaurant, one of Cambodia's best.
Good hotel for short stay in Kep. Friendly and attentive staff in general. Good location, right in front of the beach. Good views from the room. Many restaurants and shops nearby within walking distance. Good breakfast included in the price.
The hotel is right in front of the beach which makes it so convenient to visit the beach and chill there. The view from the hotel balcony is also superb. We can also get the fresh sea breeze at the balcony. We’ll definitely stay there again.
Nice room, big comfortable bed, beautiful garden and very friendly helpful staff. The hotel is close to the Rabbit Island ferry, just 5 min. walk, walking distance to butterfly garden.few minutes drive to Kep beach and National park.
Beautiful hotel. Loved the rooms and surroundings. The restaurant food and service was extremely good but also friendly. Would recommend a stay here and worth coming to Kep to experience.
Definitely the best view from any hotel in Kep. The staff are friendly and helpful and breakfast was pretty good.
My room was comfortable and clean.
