It was beautiful. Clean and beautiful view. Pictures don t do it justice. A real cocoon
Busy, crowded and impoverished. Its a shame for the people there, tourism is all they have and they are getting priced out of their own home. Basic grocery shopping trip costs a fortune, locals are getting a raw deal. Heart breaking to see.

I was expecting a bit more from capital city.
I was expecting a bit more from capital city. Rodney bay and Gros Islet were more interesting to me. Church is beautiful and centrál market is great place to get some local vibe. Vigie beach is nice and easily reachable by walk from city centre (approx 20mins walk). Bus stops are frequent but a bit challenging to get out on right one if you have no idea where you should get out (locals are quite supportive to help).

This apartment is just North of the Castries City so you are close enough for a small ride to the center but not so close for the congestion that comes with city life. This apartment location is a short taxi ride to Rodney Beach and Gros Islet (North) at low cost. Same applies for Castries Market (another tourist spot). Soufriere is a bit further of a ride but still a great day trip by taxi. Longest ride is to-from the airport. Highest taxi fare $75.00 from airport to Apartment. Depending on what you are looking for "independence and self exploration" STAY HERE .. or complete pamper, get me a drink and sit on beach all day don't care about expense stay at an All Inclusive on the island. This stay is for the adventurers who want to see everything at their own pace, on their own time Meals- Kitchen and cookware provided - If you are missing something just ask.. They will have it and get it to you (I know- I asked for a toaster and got one within minutes was brand new too .. Getting around - Real easy IF you can climb up and down steep hills. If not, use a taxi, they will come to your front door and take you anywhere you want to go. They can be hired by the short trip A-B; Hired for the day; Hired for the week; Excursions booked on internet sites will come get you here as well.. (Viator) (TripAdviser, etc)

Pink Plantation House made Castries special for us.
Pink Plantation House made Castries special for us. Transportation by taxi was necessary as the roads are too steep for more than a couple miles of walking (we’re 75). Younger people would do better.

Castries itself is not much to look at, mostly a nice local market and a tourist trap for the large cruise ships. Rodney Bay just north of Castries is the yachie centre but also a little bit of America for tourists. Watch out for the roads, hire something decent.
We had an enjoyable stay at Memwa Villa. We were welcomed by Kyle, Luciana’s son, who answered all our questions about the neighborhood and the nearby beaches. The welcome drink was delicious. The apartment was super clean and bright - loved the windows! The bed was comfortable, a/c worked well and everything was great. We were glad for the beach towels! The apartment is about 10 mins drive from Castries.
It was great staying at Luciana’s place and wonderful to meet her family. We recommend her apartment highly.
I arrived by taxi at about 7.30pm - having noticed that central Castries looked dead. I was hungry and thirsty and there were no options nearby, but Cleetus the amiable host came up trumps with 2 slices of pizza and 2 beers! The accommodation was very quiet and the view from the balconies is a great overview of the harbour. The walk into town is steep but only 15 minutes. You will need to eat out early unless you like Domino's. If I ever return to Castries I will stay here again.
We loved it so much that we extended out stay in St. Lucia and stayed an extra night at Apartment Espoir. The owners were exceptionally welcoming and helpful and made us feel right at the. Amazing views, peaceful, friendly staff, well equipped/clean apartment, pool, beach access and lovely greenery nestled in the hills.. You can't ask for more. Definitely will stay again to learn more from Keith who has a vast knowledge of the Indian Migration to the West Indies. Thanks
Really nice hotel with great views out over the Capital. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was pretty good too. But note that I picked this place because I had business in Castries. Castries, while interesting enough, is definitely not a tourist destination. You'll need to have some sort of transport arranged if you want to get somewhere interesting or be happy just to hang out in what is a very nice hotel - with no kids allowed as the bonus.
Great place to stay. Convenient location - you can get to the city center of Castries in ~5 min by car or ~20 min by bus. Gas station ~2 min walk away if you need to buy snacks. Very spacious, clean, comfortable room. The owner Maria is great -- very friendly and helpful. I even got to try home cooked food! She can recommend tours and activities to do on the island.
Judah, the host was very helpful and accommodating for our short but sweet stay, passing through the Castries area. We enjoyed the beautiful view from the balcony, a hot powerful shower and an amazing nights sleep in a very comfy bed after watching a movie on Netflix! There’s a convenient small supermarket, a bakery and also a bar / grill just a stones throw away.
This is a wonderful place with a wonderful host. Our flight was delayed and Deborah waited for us. The apartment has a beautiful garden and is only 5 minutes away by walking from the market and the centre of Castries. Deborah gave us many tips of places to go to in Castries and more generally in Saint Lucia. We really could not expect a better place.
Lots to like about this place… right at the beach, cleans rooms with self-catering provision so it’s attractive if you like to look after yourself… well supplied kitchen and private deck/balcony for eating. very enjoyable. The main staff are excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. the cleaning teams are also fabulous.
A little gem, tucked away in a quiet corner next to the Millennium Highway. Castries is right nextdoors.
You stay in a beautifully maintained house and your room is spacious, comfortable - and spotlessly clean ! You've got access to a fully equipped kitchen.
The owner is extremely helpful and friendly.
Nicely located near the beach. Although, a car/taxi is required to reach, but if you like to walk it takes only 30 minutes to join Castries downtown, and there is a shuttle bus from the hospital near by. The accommodation offers taxi service on demand as well.
Staff very friendly. One of the receptionist (youngish) was not very helpful when I first arrive as I had an issue but everyone else was fine. Location is good in walking distance to main strip for Rodney bay where there are various restaurants, bars, clubs.
The property is clean and has an extremely nice view of the water and Castries. The host is extremely nice, knowledgeable and approachable. The location is great. It is located at walking distance to restaurants, markets and ferry port. Very fast internet.
Easy to reach by a short walk from Airport SLU, close to the beach. Supermarket nearby. Public Transport (Busses to/from Gros Islet) pass just a few meters from the house at the main street. Friendly Owner, who also gives recommandations if needed.
the host was a complete angel we absolutely adored her and she was very welcoming and even gave us a couple free rides around town. I highly recommend staying here if you want to get a taste of the real St. Lucia !
First, let me say that I will be back!! I loved every minute we were there. The staff is the best. It's so beautiful and peaceful there. Not a lot of noise. The value is excellent!
