We loved everything: the rooms were large and with beautiful design, everything super clean; very confortable bed. At one point we were the only guests (our group) since it is a small resort.
The pool is amazing, food was perfect. It s best to preorder, so you don t wait. Try Tomato and Orange soup, my favorite, also shrimps, pasta, lamb.. they have a very good Chef.
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
The nearby Balapytia beach was so beautiful, we saw a wonderful sunset from the rocks.
It was splendid to relax here after visiting the island. It was one if the 2 best hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka.

Beautiful small complex in the middle of a tropical garden. The 10 small villas are modern and tastefully furnished, a small garden with a cozy seating area completes the room, nice and useful also the outdoor shower when you come back from swimming. Very nice that the garden also provided a habitat for many animals, we enjoyed the bird concerts, We were delighted to see mongooses, geckos, monkeys, monitor lizards and a sea eagle, which often made its rounds over the site.
The villa is cleaned every day and the bed is lovingly decorated with flowers and plants.
A large pool, with fresh water without chemicals, is pleasant when the sea is too stormy and the lifeguard puts up the red flag. Yes, the small resort has a lifeguard who made us feel safe at all times with his friendly manner.
Very nice restaurant, where we were spoiled with a delicious breakfast in the morning, small snacks and drinks were served during the day. Huge praise to the chef! Every meal was excellent and beautifully prepared. A big compliment also to the waiters, who were extraordinarily friendly and professional, and who fulfilled our every wish. The recommendations regarding the preparation of the freshly caught fish we ordered were great!
The two dogs, Tommy and Max, were also very cute and we took them to our hearts. (However, they were also kept away from people who don't like dogs or are anxious)
As we were here at the end of a round trip, we just wanted to relax and didn't make use of the spa, yoga and meditation facilities or the excursions.

The location of the property was perfect, just set back from an uncrowded beach at the edge of the non touristy town of Balapityia. I stayed in the garden bungalow which had had a recent addition of a veranda , making a perfect shady spot to chill and read. The staff made the ‘property ‘ though. All so caring . I was ill whilst there and they took me to the Doctors and then cooked food that I was able to eat and checked on me through the days - I was so well looked after.

The staff were very welcoming and efficient. Leonard, the manager was very kind and helpful. Suzan made us some lovely meals and Patmos was friendly. All friendly. The room was very spacious, maybe too spacious, we didn’t need all that room for two! The view was amazing and we were able to walk along the beach on one day.

Amazing! We had several hotels, apartments in Sri Lanka but this was the best. We felt great there the location is amazing, right on the beutiful beach. There were some waves but you can swim or you can use a nice pool as well. The staff was so kind and helpful. The breakfast was great they brought a table for us and we had it in front of our room in the garden while listening the sounds of the ocean. There were shops, pharmacy, restaurants nearby. Looking forward to be there next time.

Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach,...
Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

Don't wonder and don't wait!
Don't wonder and don't wait! Just go to Sri Lanka and holiday. Spend your money, feel the vibe, enjoy its exotic reality. Ignore your stupid governments travel advisory, the people NEED tourism and they need it now.
We could not have landed up at a better place, this is a true gem, hidden away with great food and the most amazing beach - we decided to stay there at the last minute because we had originally booked a big hotel, but we were just dying for some peace and quiet after traveling around the country. We could not have been more delighted when we arrived at sunset to a beautiful beachfront and pool direct from our villa. Definitely coming back. Great staff and a real hideaway - a very special place. Thank you.
Everything! From the very beginning - the reception area, the hotels territory look amazing, all green and natural, clean and comfortable at the same time. The staff is performing at its best - always ready to help, providing information and making sure my stay is comfortable. The room meets all the requirements, clean, all is working properly, the furniture is very good and of course the view. And kayaking is just an awesome activity, I saw true Sri Lankan life while kayaking on the Madu Ganga river.

Everything. It was the best experience we could imagine. A very beautifully furnished villa with a stunning view to wake up to every morning, a paradise of privacy with an empty amazing beach next to you, what could be better?
We really enjoyed the wonderful meals for breakfast, lunch and especially dinner each day. Sri Lankan food dinners experience was unforgettable! Don’t hesitate to ask for anything you want and you will get much more that exceed your expectations!
It was just perfect! The villa and the environment is wonderful! Even nicer than on the picture! The family took care of every which we had and were super friendly!
We recommend this place to everyone! Its much more nicer than the hotels on the beach, and very easy to reach by public Transport and TukTuk for the last meters. It was the nicest accommodation we had on our 3.5 week Sri Lanka trip and a perfect place to finish it :-)
My son and daughter-in-law booked the Kumu Beach hotel for their wedding. What a fabulous day. Being quite a small hotel family members and best friends stayed in the hotel and others stayed near by. The size of the hotel made it an intimate gathering but the staff were excellent in their welcome of all guests over the two day period. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The facilities were lovely, comfortable, clean etc.
We visited at the end of our 2 week stay in Sri Lanka and it was easily the nicest hotel we've been to. The place felt like a little oasis with amazing views over the river, we spent a couple hours in the infinity pool watching eagles hunt there.
Jeewana was a great host. He gave us a lot of tips of what to see in the area and even drove us to a sea turtle sanctuary. Fantastic stay, would definitely come back!
A bit of a hidden gem between Galle and Colombo. Quiet hotel with a beautiful garden of mature trees next to a very wild beach. The family are very welcoming and make an excellent rice and curry. There's a very interesting boat tour they can organise for you plus a few beach restaurants further down the shoreline. Would thoroughly recommend for anyone wanting a bit of peace and relaxation.
Excellent secluded paradise! Small place (8 rooms only), empty beach with no neighbors - just the Sun, Sea and relax. Great hospitality of Hassan and the Team. Food and cocktails are good (add $50-60 per 2 persons per day).
We stayed in Garden Villa - and it was good choice as it has own small garden.
Transfer to/from Colombo airport is 2 hours ($125 each way) and very comfortable.
With a stunning view, this property took my expectations to a new level! Located in a quiet area beside the lake, I enjoyed the peaceful and quiet surroundings! Modern but not landscape changing the Hotel is placed in the hill by the lake. Staff and owners are always there for you to help if anything is needed! Thx to all of them! 🙏🏻 At my next stay, I definitely will come again!
From check-in to check-out this property excelled as far as level of service expected from a boutique hotel! The quality of the food and beverage were terrific (albeit marginally limited). The infinity pool, beach, and sunsets a constant reminder of the chances to relax on offer not just at the property but also in the nation of Sri Lanka.
THE LOCATION WAS FANTASTIC, WEST FACING SO LOVELY SUNSETS. YOU COULD WALK FOR SEVERAL MILES IN BOTH DIRECTIONS ON THE BEACH WHICH WAS PERFECT. HOTEL LAYOUT WAS VERY GOOD. WE COULD HAVE BREAKFAST ON OUR OWN TERRACE IF WE WANTED. STAFF WERE ALL VERY FRIENDLY AND KEEN TO HELP. FOOD ON THE WHOLE WAS VERY GOOD BUT THE MENU DID NOT CHANGE.
It was one of the most unique experiences of our stay in Sri Lanka ,the quality of the food was excellent and the hotel and restaurant staff were very professional and polite, we experienced a beautiful sunrise.
It was a whole new experience and it is definitely recommended.
It's a dream come true. Rooms are huge and nicely decorated, the staff is very kind and attentive, food is excellent, the beach is lovely and feels very intimate and they have a sweet hotel dog.
We didn't want to leave and want to go back as soon as possible.
The villa is beautiful, situated along a stunning beach in Balapitiya. The area is quiet but there are a few restaurants nearby and it is a short tuk tuk ride to Hikkaduwa. The staff at the villa were excellent and extremely accommodating and welcoming.
Arrived on our honeymoon and the hotel staff were so generous that they had arranged a special setup. Thanks for making our stay a special one. One of the best beaches you will find anywhere in the world. Will definitely return.
The hotel is literally located in the jungle. You can see monkeys, birds, butterflies in their natural environment. It is highly recommended to take a walk on the river.
Rooms are very spacious and furnished in colonial style.
Tharindu the owner was amazing. He did everything to make my stay perfect. After 2 days it feels like leaving a friend. Thank you for everything🙏
the hotel its very quiet and in the middle of nature. Paradise
The property was super amazing. It was comfortable and clean. The staff and manager were kindly and helpful. Also, the view is wonderful. I highly recommend it. No doubt that, I will book this hotel again.
