We have stayed at all the Bentota Resort hotels over the last 30 years. The Avani ranks amongst the best of these. We really enjoyed the relaxed, beautiful design and location. Staff were exceptionally nice. Special mentions for Vidursha our waitress, Chamila our room cleaner, the pool boy, waiting staff at the buffet and bar restaurant. Raj the manager was superb in ensuring that our every need was met. The bar restaurant chef turns out delicious food. All staff are a credit to the hotel and are commended for making our stay fabulous.

Very close to a quiet beautiful beach, nice small family property, with a wonderful little garden. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable with aircon and fan, good shower, and small kitchenette, fridge and freezer. I have never in my life had such a great and personable host, Susee took great care of me from the moment I arrived up until I left and provided anything and beyond I could ask for. Food was homemade and exceptional quality, and on the sri Lankan new year I was invited into the family home for a feast of food!

I had a great stay at ocean view, I liked it so much I extended my stay by 2 days I had such a nice time, the mananger Sukan and staff made me feel so welcome I went fishing and brought back a nice big fish...i was given a crash course in Sri Lankan cooking by the cook and we all had dinner together that night The location of the hotel is sat back of the beach in front of the rail line but its close enough to see the waves crashing on the shore while having breakfast This has to be one of the best places i have stayed at

Second time we’ve stayed here in a couple of weeks whilst moving around Sri Lanka. We love it here. Uditha on the pool bar is brilliant. A big shout out to Sanjann, Halum and Zoisa. Catering to all our needs and displaying the finest in Sri Lankan kindness and hospitality. The front of house staff have been brilliant with making our trip run smoothly and the GM Wim thanked us for visiting again. We would recommend this hotel to anyone . We will be coming back for sure!

Pool was great for the kids. So much space for guests and privacy. Rooms on the new wing were nice and modern with ample space and a good view. Breakfast and dinner buffets were well organized, very tasty and a good spread. The local Sri Lankan food was also very tasty. Staff were very good. Special mention to Kalinga running the bar in the day service by the poolside. Lifeguards deserve a special mention, as very helpful to us and the kids.

Truly exquisite, modern and spacious set of bungalow type villas located right at the beautiful beachfront of Bentota. Charming design elements, luxurious, spacious rooms that opens up fully to let the sea breeze and magnificent views in. big comfortable bed and chic bathroom. nice big pool with gorgeous sunsets reflected on it. Absolutely divine food! the best have had in Sri Lanka. Our kudos to the chef once again!

Truly magical place right at the beach! By far the loveliest place we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Janu is very kind gentlemen and all his team did the best for us to have a nice time. We had plenty of friendly conversations and drinks together. We also decided to spend Christmas there which was truly lovely. Thank you very much for all your kindness, help and hospitality! Hope to be back to your paradise once!

Old world charm at Club Villa, the gardens and swimming pool are a delight with plenty of shade to pull your sun bed into 🌞we had a mixture of western breakfast and of course the full Sri Lankan breakfast tailored to your spice level and comfort. The stars of the show are the staff, polite, courteous and professional nothing was ever too much trouble. Will hope to be back next time in Bentota.👌👍

The beakfast and dinner buffets were superb - probably the best resort buffets we had over our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. The rooms were large, beautiful and very comfortable with beach and river glimpses/views. Some staff at reception were arrogant, but other reception staff were lovely and certainly all other staff were friendly and fantastic!

The staff in the buffet area was nice but later we understood they were just being chatty because they had to get an evaluation form filled out. The shower was nice. The 24 hour bar was good. The hotel was clean. They upgraded our room for free before we got there.

Peace and quiet, beautiful vegetation, lots of birds and other animals - a real paradise. Delicious Sri Lankan breakfasts. 10 minutes to the most beautiful beach in Sri Lanka, completely empty. Nice owner. Best regards :-) Thank you for everything :-)

Stunning design. Beautiful location. Huge comfortable room. Delicious breakfast, Sri Lankan or European available. Lots of smiley attentive staff. Huge empty beach at the end of the garden.

Wonderful location with beach and pool in great combination. the rooms right by pool are the best. very calm and staff were incredibly friendly. pool is stunning.

Lovely room which includes a boat trip in the price! Air conditioning too which is great! One of the best places we stayed in our two months in Sri Lanka!
