This boutique guest house is fantastic, located in front of the Samabe lake. This is such a peaceful, relaxing and quiet environment. A real paradise for all nature lovers - located just a few minutes away from Dambulla center. For now, there are only 2 cottages in the property. So basically the stay is very private (no noise around). The cottage size is very good with a terrace from where you can enjoy the view of the lake. The personnel is very friendly - and insisted to invite me for a lovely boat tour on the lake for free. Surprisingly there was no mosquito in the cottage whereas we could think that there might be due to the proximity of the lake. The WiFi was working very fine. All was perfect. From this place, i did visit Dambulla (e.g Golden temple) and its surroundings- up to Habarana for a half a day safari (mainly elephants spotted) in the national park of Minneriya/Eco lodge. Spent 2 wonderful nights …and wish I would have more time to stay more !
Evergreen situated 5 km from Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple, and 10 km to sigiriya rock. The property features free Wi-Fi access, free private parking and free transportation from Hotel to Dambulla.

During my stay, I loved my room with its high ceilings and balcony where Doggo Tuppy naps every afternoon. It's amazing how cool and comfortable the room felt with the strong fan despite the hot weather in Dambulla during April and May.
The food and working area was perfect for me as a co-working space, especially in the mornings and evenings. Super aesthetic views!
One of the most pleasant surprises of this trip was Api's hospitality. He shared his insights and experiences of doing business in Sri Lanka, and he even went out of his way to pick me up from my previous hostel, which was easily 15km away. Additionally, he drove me to the bus station at 3:30 am, all free of charge. ( Oh! And the trip to this aruyvedic massage place which was the best massage I've had in SL). Your hospitality is top-notch, Api!

All the sites were wonderful - Sigiriya (the rock), Dambulla Caves (Amazing - especially cave #2), Polonnaruwa (Ancient City), Elephant Safari saw 40 to 50 elephants - Mothers and their children on a ridge at the very end of the safari! It was a great day to be able to see that many in the game reserve all together. I would spend minimum 3 but really 4 nights up here as the travel day really doesn't count because you aren't running out to see anything until the next day, so this way you have 3 full days to see all the sites and it isn't rushed. Also, you go out early in the morning as it gets too bloody hot in the middle of the day.

Dambulla is a great place to explore, especially if you are a nature lover. Lots of greenery is preserved amidst the cave temples. Frescos at the Dambulla cave temple are amazingly beautiful. Inside the caves are cold though the outside temperature is steaming hot in the summer.
Sigiriya rock is another attraction near Dambulla. It will take a half a day tour to climb up and down but if you want to explore more, the area surrounding the Sigiriya rock garden is vast and can wonder around the rock garden and historical ruins for hours. Good for hikers.
Ibbankatuwa ancient grave yard, Pidurangala (A rock with nice view at the top, situated parallel to Sigiriya Rock are some of other nearby attractions.

First of all we would like to thank the owner and the management for giving us the opportunity to stay at this beautiful resort.
Colin and Ajit did a wonderful job of looking after us
They are hard working, sincere and committed in their work.
Few things that need to be sorted out were the overgrown creeper in the front which is preventing sunlight from entering the front of the house.
Lighting in the room and bathroom need to be brighter. A stronger Wi-Fi would be welcome
Overall an enjoyable stay
Hope to visit again
Regards
Upon arriving I found out that I had forgotten the passports and traveling documents at the hotel in Colombo. Very stupid but immediately Athula, the owner, offered his assistance and next day all passports arrived by courier. Althula also brought us to the cave rock. We used Dambulla to visit Sigiriya and Anuradhapura which was very good from a traveling point of view. Breakfast was good and we enjoyed the location as it is situated in a quiet area. So we had a very good stay also because of the kindness of Athula and his family.
Hotel Aswadduma and had a fantastic experience. This eco-friendly hotel boasts a diverse array of wild animals in its garden, providing a unique and immersive connection with nature. The scenic surroundings enhance the overall atmosphere, creating a serene environment. The rooms are not only spacious but also exceptionally comfortable, making for a relaxing stay. The staff's readiness to assist at any time adds to the positive impression, making Hotel Aswadduma an ideal choice for those seeking a nature-centric getaway.
The staff were amazing, they helped us with anything we needed and were incredibly friendly. The food was great, the Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and so were the curries and kottu we had for dinner - the portions are big! The rooms have an incredible view of the nearby mountains and the hotel itself is setback from the main road and is quiet, the room was clean and had everything we needed. It was great value and we would definitely recommend it and we would definitely stay again!
The hotel is just 5 minutes walk from Dambulla city center. You can even consider walking to Dambulla Cave Temples area , it took me 30 minutes from the hotel to the Temple Entrance. Sigiriya is just 30 minutes by bus , Polonnaruwa ruins is just 1.5 hours by bus from Dambulla centre. Even though it is close to the city centre, the property is in a forest full of tropical birds, fabulous. The room was spacious and clean. Definetely , good value for your money.
Eden grand boasts huge rooms, friendly family run business, great breakfast. A new hotel only opened in the past year and has great potential. Owner was friendly and accommodating, also provided transport to our next location. It is a little bit of a walk outside the main area in Dambulla but perfect for a short stay.
Would recommend better wifi and some lighting along the walk up to the hotel if possible but otherwise we enjoyed our stay!
Honestly, one of the best places we've been staying in Sri Lanka since a month. The room is clean, spacious and comfortable, it does have everything you need, even more. The lady and her family is so courteous, kind and available. She cooks so good, me and my partner we loved the food. The area is outside Dambulla and it's really peaceful. We surely come back on the way down. For the price that you pay, you get more then what you expect.
A special place off the beathen paths - great to learn and experience the rural sides of Sri Lanka. Pradeep is such a welcoming host and shares stories about his life and culture. You can visit the fields around and even take a swim in the river. 2 nights were nearly not enough time. Traveling to Dambulla or Sigirya is quite easy and Pradeep helps with any need. We'll come back!
The best member of staff Sugar was awesome, he was willing to help us with everything and always smiling :) we really appreciated him to be there for us. Location of the hotel is great, even though it is situated in centre of Dambulla, the place is calm and quite with lots of trees and palms around pool. Deluxe King room was very comfortable and had fridge.
I had a wonderful stay at Kingdom gate hotel. The friendly staff provided a warm welcome (Ceylon tea) , and I tried some Sri Lanka food was delightful. Service was excellent.
They have big swimming pool and quiet garden.
It's evident the hotel is evolving, and I believe it has the potential to become even more impressive in the future.
Stayed at Milano Grand for one night. The location of this property is convenient, just behind the bus stand. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The property owner is a very friendly person, who makes sure to help whenever required. I enjoyed my stay at the Milano Grand. I Highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Dambulla.
Amazing owners with open heart - they even helped us to organize our stay in Dambulla (safari and a little sights recommended). The location is superb. The breakfast and dinner is a must - best examples of Sri Lankan food. We had fantastic time chatting with the owners on the terrace.
Location was in a rural area about 3.5 kms from the centre of Dambulla, but this suited us. The road was fairly quiet overall.
Breakfasts were varied, all Sri Lankan in style, nice fruit juices. Happy to help organise a moped for a couple of days, at a reasonable cost.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel, with the owners being so kind and friendly. We had the most wonderful sri Lankan breakfast served to us - the taste was just wonderful - with good local spicing!
the location and facilities are amazing, very well-maintained hotel in the middle of the nature.
The dinner and breakfast were so delicious with big variety of food and drinks.
Amazing hotel, one of the best in Sri Lanka ❤️Modern, clean, beautiful. Beautiful area inside. Tasty buffet dinner for 3800 LKR / person. Really long and clean swimming pool.
