The location is excellent and the resort is real value for money . The food was excellent . The rooms were nice . The toiletries in the bathrooms needs to improve . The bathroom needs exhaust fans as it can get quite stuffy . The resort manager Mr Upal is a nice friendly bloke and is exceptional in his service . Overall a very pleasant experience .

This is a great location to stay if you want to visit the national parks and My Village will organise safaris to the four parks in the area either a half or full day. We were there the first time for safari. We had a tour to the Buddha by the sea…amazing. This time we were passing through on our way to Ella. We ate at Red Pizza which was just as good second time round.

Was in Tissamaharama for Yala Safari, had booked the early morning Safari. Disappointed with the Safari as there were very few animals except.for.peacocks and spotted dear. Later into the ride our jeep driver and guide revealed we had entered through block 5 of the Safari and most the animals(Leopard, Bears) mostly are sighted in block 1 and 2. Block 1 and 2 were closed that day, maybe just our luck. So I guess check, with the Safari organizer before booking your safari as it quite expensive. Very good base for safari to Yala or Bundala parks. I' went to Bundala as I've never been to park with big wetlands and I think it was a great choice. We've seen numerous types of birds, lizards, monkeys, jackals, mangooses, bufallos, crocodiles and also few elephants😊 I didn't stay in center of Tissa but still was able to find nice restaurants, like Smoky Kitchen (recommended).

Tissa is superb location with many Lakes, temples , archeological sites of ancient civilizations, beautiful paddy fields dotted with Temples & surrounded by mountains Also with boot & canoe tours , Jet skies , 4 x 4 Jeep tours, ideal for Bird watchers & of course for Safari and Wild life fans Also for Buddhist pilgrimages with lots of traditions Plenty sea food , sweat water fish varieties & many tropical fruits , Veggies are available Ideal location also for long term holidays with affordable to cheap prices

The bathroom was also big and had a great shower. We had a large balcony area too which was good to sit out on. Mithila organised our safari and also ordered us dinner from a local restaurant, she also arranged our transport to our next hotel. Mithila made us feel so welcome and the room was beyond expectations. Our favourite stay in Sri Lanka! Thank you Mithila! Would recommend to everyone looking to stay in the area.

Even though we booked our Yala National Park safari separately from the hotel, everything went without a hitch. A breakfast was prepared and ready for us and the night guard was very helpful. A definite recommendation from us.
