Lovely hotel in the centre of Mellieha. Great choice for breakfast. Staff in the cocktail bar were excellent as were the cocktails. Some evenings there was entertainment which we enjoyed very much. Pool areas were well looked after, clean and relaxing.
Solana Hotel offers modern rooms and studios with free Wi-Fi access, a 10-minute walk from the beach on Mellieha Bay. The rooftop terrace with pool is a real highlight.

Love the area, great restaurants (Wagu was our favourite).
Love the area, great restaurants (Wagu was our favourite). Theres so much to see and do without the hustle of tourists. Took a 10 min taxi to Golden Bay beach for a hike, you are pretty central to everything. Lovely shops and definitely take a stroll to Sea View Cafe, stunning views with good food and a happy hour.

It’s a quiet town with a reasonable amount of pubs and restaurants. It’s a good base to stay but we went to different places each day. There isn’t enough to keep you busy for a full week if you like to do things on holidays.

We went in the off season (mid April) so the area was quiet and it was easy to get a restaurant, although on the other hand many restaurants were very dead with only 1 or 2 groups inside. The weather was good although very windy, good enough to sit on the beach but not sunbathe or swim. The town was very pretty, it's nice to take a walk up the hill and see the views and older buildings.
We would recommend Blu Club, Amami, and the mellieha heights area at the top of the hill.

Mellieha is a beautiful calm and small town which makes it perfect if you want to avoid crowded cities with a lot of traffic and mass tourism. Climb up the hill and you'll have a fantastic sight onto the bay nearby. the upper town has also beautiful narrow streets and typical houses to see. Not that easy to travel in Malta in general, due to some public transport issues. If I went again, I would avoid long displacements across the island, I would just visit the places nearby. If you are in the northern part and want to have a dayout to the southern Malta, it make take you 4-5 hours go/back with public transport. To avoid the stress and the frustration, stay and visit the places nearby. It's a good excuse to go again and visit the places you missed before!!

Labrsnda Hotel is outside of Mellieha Bay, very vl9se to the ferry port to Gozo; and there are no restaurants or bars nearby. So full board is recommended unless you get a bus, vtaxi or walk to Mellieha Bay which is bustling and it has a lovely sandy beach.
Please note that now on HB, no drinks are included. They were in 2023: local beer, wine and water. We stayed in March 2023 on HB and booked again for March 24; but were not informed of these changes until the first night at dinner when we received a drinks bill.
The green room compensation scheme has also changed: no 'free' ocktails per day per room. Seems to have been a change over "free" alcohol options (although you could've opted for a mocktail previously.)
Drinks are now only available on fully inclusive. However, at the time if booking for us via booking. Com , no all incl was available; neither were we offered an upgrade at reception upon checking in; nor a change in their HB services. So, a cautionary note when booking.
My wife and I have stayed in other stars branch hotels in Malta for a few days before we extend the trip a bit longer.. I think staying in a private holiday apartment is a much better choice than hotel resorts. It is much cheaper and you have a lot more privacy and get to know locals better. This is not something you can do if you stay in fancy resorts. Amazing seafront view, spacious areas, well-equipped with everything you need, quiet location. Surely recommend it to friends and family next time they go to Malta.
The Hotel is situated in a secluded but beautiful area of Malta. It has a beautiful Seafront terrace where one can relax whilst enjoying a drink. We liked the fact that the cocktails are value for money actually very cheap when compared to the norm. The room was very clean as well. The breakfast was superb. We loved the ginger shot before going for breakfast. And the apple juice whilst waiting at the front desk for checking in.
Excellent hotel, location, beach. Balcony sea view was amazing. Everything was so good we just stayed there the whole time and did not go anywhere else in Malta, which is very unusual for us. Great indoor pool and sauna with a view, which you can totally miss as there is a lot going out outdoors, with pools etc. Has a deli in a hotel if you wanna save a few quid on drinks too. Breakfast was awesome.
The building is really good, the room and the view from there amazing. The customer service 100/10, Cristina helped me a lot giving me pieces of advice of how to get to popular places in Malta, gave me a map saying where to eat, walk, bus stop etc, she makes you feel at home, she’s a really really a good host.
The hotel location, privacy and cleanliness were amazing. The breakfast was delicious and accomidated all food types from vegetables, to meats, to fruit and bakery. Tofu and fish were included. It was amazing.
We appreciated all of the facilities and will surely return if in Malta again.
The location of the hotel; staff was really friendly; and although we expected more variety at the buffet; the food was quite good; the outside pools' area is nice and has a lot of potential although it needs maintenance; the hotel mini market has many essentials and is well equipped.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, the room had a great sea view and the room was clean and large enough for our needs. The location is excellent for trips to Gozo or tours of the island, plenty of local amenities. We would recommend this hotel for a holiday in Malta
The hotel is overall okay. But was disappointed by the fact that the wifi was very poor in the room and it we didn't have it for 2 days until they fixed it. Also, once the cold water was coming out yellow from the tab and the issue was only fixed at the end of the day.
Everything was perfect. We enjoyed our stay so much. Pools, food, room was just perfect. We met the nicest receptionist Bianka who was very friendly and helpful, she gave us many good tips. We stayed in more hotels in Malta but Solana was the best experience. Thank you
Everything was just perfect! It is located at one of the best places in Malta - Paradise Bay. The food was awesome. Thank you also to the cleaning services and Bhisma Karki, he was always very kind to us and helped us a lot during our stay.
Amazing place with a very nice view and pool. The hotel was close to the restaurants and just 15 mins walk from the beach (2-3 mins by car). Our stay in Malta was lovely and we will definitely plan another trip there in the near future.
Breakfast was really good. Room was clean and nice size. The location is very near to Popeye village and other places of interest. Of course if you have a rental car, Malta is not so difficult to travel around.
The hotel has everything you need in a great location, great breakfast, extremely clean with a great smell, excellent customer service, and a beautiful/perfect view of the Sea from the rooftop pool.
Luna is one of our favorite hotels in Malta. Reasons being the cleanliness, the location, the friendliness of the staff. We always feel welcome there and we are guaranteed a very pleasant stay.
Beautifully situated at the top of the hill with a great view down into the bay. The hotel is close to everything including frequent buses to all parts of Malta and Gozo. Amazing breakfast
The hotel is new, modern, comfortable, tastefully decorated and on a quiet street. The room was quite spacious and had a nice balcony. The breakfast was presented nicely and tasty.
Iv been to a lot of hotels on weekend breaks but this hotel Viu57 has an amazing view of Mellieha bay ,you can even see Gozo.Hotel is clean and modern ,comfortable.
