We actually got a better room, than we paid - because of some reconstruction and it was out of season. So we were delighted with the room service and offer. The people here were really nice, the room was tidy with a nice view of the mountain.

Ideally situated for the ferry to Flam. They kindly up-graded us simply because they had a better room available. Very peaceful and a fantastic view of three waterfalls cascading down the mountainside.

I can't speak exactly for the budget hotel facilities because we were upgraded for free to the fjordhotell down the street (same owner). It was so nice, the room had a sky light you could see stars at night, from bed. All of the staff were so incredibly kind and the view all around were stunning!

We were on a hiking trip through Norway, usually camping/tenting but occasionally booking a stay at a hotel or BnB to shower and warm up. Gudvangen Budget Hotel was one of the few that really scratched the itch that we needed. Clean, nice showers, fresh bed linens, a kettle and instant coffee, all of these were incredible little details that added up for a great rest before heading out again for a hike the next day. :)

We only saw the Budget Hotel from the outside but it it gave us some uncertain vibes, we just did not feel quite comfortable. The house of the Budget Hotel looks a little abondoned and old-fashioned. Thankfully we got an Upgrade on the Wiking rooms of the Fjordtell Reservation and Hotel Center instead of Gudvangen Budget Hotel, which is why our stay was beyond comfortable. The bad was unbelievably cozy, the skyview from the windows above was calming and a fresh turn for us. We are again very thankful for that experience.

I was upgraded to the Viking Suite and had an amazing stay. The staff was very friendly and guided me to the areas around the hotel. Due to winter, and the icy paths, the hotel staff warned us and informed us on the different routes we could take.
