Tairua is a laidback seaside town, with lots to see and do for those who want an adventure; and stunning views and a relaxed vibe for those who want to do nothing but work on their tan! You're a short walk from the top of Mount Paku, so be sure to walk up to the summit for the best views in all of Tairua. Tairua Marina and beach are a leisurely walk or 2-minute drive away, with safe surfing and soft golden sands. Keen explorers can also jump off Pepe Bridge, or take a kayak tour from Hot Water Beach to Cathedral Cove, looking out for dolphins along the way. Abel Tasman National Park is the smallest National Park in New Zealand, but it is one of the most scenic. Abel Tasman boasts pristine white sandy beaches, tranquil estuaries and wonderful forested headlands. The Coastal Track is world famous, and visitors can choose to explore it on their own, or with a guide. Other ways to explore the coastline include sea kayaking, yacht, or water taxis. At the southern entrance to Abel Tasman National Park there is fantastic opportunity for visitors to swim with seals.
