Loved this motel! It was spotless, spacious, and comfortable. The owner is a gem, who welcomed me with a smile, milk for my coffee, and some information on Thames. Was it the most updated - no. Was everything tidy and in good repair - absolutely. I would stay here over a hotel with updated decor.

Beautiful room and apartment. Felt homey and unique but still very clean and private. Nice host. I wish we stayed here longer.

The AMBERS Accommodation was fabulous, it had everything that we needed for our stay, all the breakfast supplies were there from the yoghurt to the cereals, milk, toaster with bread and all the condiments too. The beds were very comfortable as was the lounge area TV was ok lovely gardens and the hosts Sue and her Hubby, were very accomodating, nothing too hard for them.
The area had a number of attractions including the old gold mine. Lots of shops in the town. Just a great little place to spend a few relaxing days. We highly recommend a visit to Thames and look at staying at The Ambers, its well worth it..

Thames is a quiet town with quite a few coffee shops and a good variety of stores to browse. The supermarket (Pack & Save) was close to where we were staying. There are several locations close to Thames that are worth a visit The Gold mine just north of town Cathedral beach and the hot water beach are worth the time to check out. A scenic drive up to Coramandel town is interesting. Just be careful on the narrow sea side road. Enjoy

Close to Thames town. Unit 8: Lovely surroundings, pity next door neighbour's car blocked seaview. Spacious, clean rooms. Lovely beds & bedding. Fan was a nice touch. Milk in fridge was a lovely surprise. Nice accessories - pair of scirrors would come in handy, though. Loved soaps and hairdryer. Would love to go again, different unit, though.
We really enjoyed our stay at Fantail Hill. The hosts were very accommodating and even let us check-in earlier. They also let us use their barbecue.
What we liked best was the view from the rooms and the terrace and also the fact that everything was really clean.
It was the perfect place to start our New Zealand trip.
The staff/receptionist at this hotel was incredibly welcoming and helpful.
We’re very satisfied with the cleanliness of the rooms.
Everything was in order and the room was really cozy and comfortable. 😊👍🏻
Great location overlooking Thames and a lovely rural outlook including a field containing their sheep. Very generous provisions for breakfast and a spacious accommodation.
Fabulous cottage, beautifully decorated, very well-equipped, lots of extras in fridge and pantry; excellent location close to coast pathway and township.
