The Saudi Arabian capital, sprawling Riyadh is a mix of historic monuments and ultra-modern skyscrapers. On a plateau surrounded by desert, it is one of the Middle East’s richest cities, so there are several 5-star hotels in Riyadh.
This wealth is also evident in modern architecture, particularly the Kingdom Centre, a perfectly sculpted building looking strangely like a bottle opener. Lit at night, it has an observation deck offering fantastic city views.
On its bottom floor is a shopping mall, and there is another within Al Faisaliyah, the country’s 1st skyscraper. Riyadh is a shopping paradise and yet more malls are on wide, palm-lined King Fahd Road. This king also gave his name to King Fahd Stadium, home of the Saudi football team.
Unusually for a capital, King Khalid International Airport is right in the city centre and there are lots of Riyadh hotels near the airport on Booking.com. South, in Al Murabba, is the King Abdulaziz Historical Centre, site of the Saudi Arabia National Museum. Further south in Dirah is 19th-century Al-Masmak fort with souks and mosques nearby.
Wherever you stay, remember that Saudi Arabia is a deeply Islamic country and that local customs should be respected. Men and women may not be able to access attractions at the same time.
Everything is far from each other and traffic is really bad.
Everything is far from each other and traffic is really bad. Kareem is too expensive and most of the time you get extra charges that you cannot do anything about it. Lots of big malls but all of the more or less copy paste of each other in terms of brands.

Riyadh is a very big place to hang around and you might never be able to book a stay long enough to discover it in its full.
The other thing is that Riyadh is a more liberal place for people to be around, just like a lot of big cities around the world you can see all kinds of different people with different background wandering the streets even though Islamic law prevails, they are not as tough on appearing rules as they may be on the smaller villages and towns in Saudi Arabia.
Just don't do anything an ordinary family (member) would not do and don't mingle in religious affairs and you will be safe.

This is a fast-developing country with ambitions to improve the socio-economic status in the region, so there is no doubt it is already standing out with its infrastructure and its plans for growth in tourism and global awareness. Shopping and a little bit of nature are a must if you would like to immerse yourself in the local culture. On the flip side it is becoming very modern and open to all creeds and cultures with parks, concerts, fairs etc.
Language is not necessarily a barrier, as is in most parts of the world, so don't let that stop you.
Best times to travel are during the winter months in Saudi Arabia.

The city still needs more improvement, heavy traffic is killing the city and killing any plans also the car drivers there are very reckless, The LEAP event was established around 90KM from the city center where all the people can find hotels or houses it was literally in the middle of the desert without any restaurants and cafes, also prices in restaurants and coffeeshop are expensive compared to other Gulf cities like Doha or Dubai, In general it is not that bad but if you travelled before to Qatar, UAE and Oman and expecting the same experience you might feel disappointed, hopefully the new vision to Improve Riyadh and to make the new business capital will be in place and Riyadh will be better keeping in mind that 6-7 years ago nothing was there and the city improved a lot since then
Its Brand new Hotel, New furniture, friendly environment, most Attractive thing is the Location, just Amazing, exactly city center Point. my booking was standard room but they upgraded me to a NOVO panoramic suite , has Jacuzzi and the view was Just WoW !
Very friendly Staff,
Front Office,Restaurant,Housekeeping, everyone was just fantastic, I used to stay in other hotels in Riyadh but from now NOVO Hotel only will be my Choice .Thank you NOVO Hotel and thank you booking.com for providing such a great Hotel. Best wishes
Ritz Carlton Riyadh is one of the best hotels in Riyadh. Upon entry you would be amazed by the design of the hotel both inside and outside, staff were great and that what made it exceptional. Eid from breakfast, eian and anthony from spa services and your colleague I guess his name was Joseph you were all amazing and went an extra mile to accommodate our requests. Facilities included Pool, Bowling Alley, Spa and more. You could also rent a scooter to go around the hotel ‘palace’. All was great and would go again.
The location of the hotel is very good. The neighborhood is safe and one of the best in Riyadh. I must say I was amazed by the hospitality, and the great attitude of the staff. This leads me to believe that the management is very good and of high-level of professionalism. I would love to thank Mr. Shadi for his amazing management and I would also like to thank mrs. Abram and Mr. Said and Mohamed and Mr. Ahmed I would like to thank them from the heart for their hospitality and their professionalism
Staff very welcoming upon checking in. Room was very large, clean and tidy and had a nice bathroom. Parking can be found either directly outside of the hotel or on the surrounding streets without a problem. Excellent location in the center of Riyadh - almost all points in the city reachable within 30-40 mins in a car.
I was travelling as a solo tourist from Europe and I would recommend to tourists in Riyadh.
I recently stayed at Grand Plaza Hotel - Gulf Riyadh, where the breakfast was a delightful array of fresh and tasty options, catering to all preferences. The quality and variety, from pastries to seasonal fruits, were impressive. The hotel also offers convenient and secure parking, a huge relief in the city. Overall, this hotel provides an enjoyable stay with standout breakfast and parking facilities.
The hotel is located in Olaya Street which is the main hub of Riyadh, it is close to Tahlia Street which has all the great restaurants and malls nearby, most of the landmarks are 15 to 20 minutes walk. The room was very spacious and the buffet breakfast was really nice. The staff is amazing and will go over the board to support you with your request.
The hotel is situated in the heart of the city, with Riyadh Avenue Mall within convenient walking distance. However, the condition of the room was really unsatisfactory, as it was infested with cockroaches and the bedsheets were not properly washed. The air conditioning unit is antiquated and heavily laden with an abundance of dust particles.
My heart stayed at this place and I would definitely come back again. The hotel is modern, clean and luxurious decorated perfectly located in the city center of Riyadh. Excellent breakfast with good variety. Extremely helpful and nice personnel. Highly recommend this hotel for Riyadh city breaks. Thank you for the pleasant stay!
Fairmont is one of the best hotel in Riyadh!!! everything was perfect, our room was very big and comfy, the breakfast was delicious and there was so many choices, the staff was very friendly and helpful and they were super welcoming on arrival, special thanks to Mr.Hani ,BEST experience ever.
Hotel was okay, breakfast spread was good. Staff at reception were good and check in was smooth. Its in heart of the city and getting a cab is not much of a hassle. I would suggest a better differentiation between the other Ramada as people get confused between the two Ramadas in Riyadh.
Park Inn Radisson Hotel is one of the best hotels in Riyadh. Honestly ,I highly recommend this wonderful hotel for any one wish to have a great and comfortable stay with affordable price.
Very frindly staff and tasty breakfast.
The best location in Riyadh. Around the hotel are supermarkets, pharmacies, and everything else you need. The rooms are very big and nice. Special thanks to the receptionists, who were so helpful and polite.
Very nice hotel. It's clean, smells good, air conditioning is excellent. There is a gym but i didn't use it. Breakfast is 10/10 also. Best hotel under 70 usd in Riyadh?
Big park is walking distance away.
Such a luxurious hotel, I think the best in Riyadh, the interior is just amazing! The staff is also very polite and helpful, special thanks to Sultan at the front desk. Will definitely come back again.
