Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering two countries, Austria and Hungary, and centers around the beautiful Danube River. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy Most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with a UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself has a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Across the street, St. Martin’s Cathedral was the coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s specialty is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-colored buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower, whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.

It is a hidden treasure yet to be popularised. The only challenge is the language. The Taxi drivers, shopkeepers & others dealing with tourists must be able to speak & understand at least basic English. Especially the Bolt drivers. They need to be given training in etiquette and English.

Bratislava is a large small town in many ways, and a small large city in others. More cafe's than we could shake a stick at, and that's just in the neighborhood we stayed in. The city is beautiful, an the ground transportation (trams and busses) is comprehensive. The people were smiling and helpful.
I want to go back to see the rest of it.

Bratislava is a lovely city and one I would visit again.
Bratislava is a lovely city and one I would visit again. The streets are wide and clean and it is much quieter than London considering the population is not big. It is a good base to stay and travel to other cities like Vienna which we did.
Loved this hotel. It had a real sense of faded grandeur and the film theme just added to the character of the place. We got a very large room at the front of the hotel which was airy and light. Staff were very pleasant and breakfast was good. Was in a quiet street, just 20 minutes walk from the main station, and about 10 minutes walk from the old town. Lots of good bars within 5 minutes walking distance. Really enjoyed staying here and would definitely return if we visit Bratislava again
The room was very spacious and the bathroom was large, clean and functional. The shower worked well; the shower doors kept the water in the shower, not allowing it onto the bathroom floor.
The hotel has an outdoor patio, which I liked very much.
The breakfast, although pricey, included a wide variety of foods.
The staff was very nice and offered me all the supplies I asked for.
The hotel is well-located, close the Bratislava Castle and Old Town.
We supposed to stay at the description hotel address (in the main street of Bratislava Old Town) but other guests end up messing the apartment. Property hosts let us know right after and got us another place which was fabulous - a huge apartment, newly decorated with living room, big kitchen and 3 spacious rooms - very modern. There nothing to add in this place, so beautiful and complete.
Nice hotel in a quiet area. Next to a football ground and a school, but was still quiet. Friendly reception and cleaning staff. Handy little common area with kettle, fridge, etc. Good location not too far out from the city centre, walked one day, took about 45 minutes, also there's a bus stop 1 minute walk from the hotel goes strait to the centre. Also really comfy beds and hot shower👍
Very nice and professional staff, in the room you can notice their attention to details. It's very welcoming and cosy! The bathroom is very clean and smells so nice, like essential oils... The breakfast is amazing, a lot of options available. The location is perfect, at the heart of Bratislava, everything to see is at walking distance. Certainly the best 5 stars hotel I have stayed at.
Wow! The location of this hotel cannot be beat. Literally steps away from the main square in the old town and walking distance to the bus station. The staff were super friendly and my room was really nice! I even got to check-in early. The restaurant at the bottom is one of the top rated ones in Bratislava. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again!
The location of the hotel is great, its just 3 bus stops from the main railway station. The bus stop is right in front of the Hotel. The Hotel is very near to the old town, other tourist attractions can be easily reached by using public
Special thanks to Ivan from the front desk for answering all questions and providing details of tourist places to visit.
The hotel studio was great, it had everything we needed including a comfy bed. Quiet and private. Reception staff were professional and friendly. The location was excellent for the old town, Xmas markets and station (we travelled from Budapest). Bratislava is beautiful and both the hotel and the city are well worth a visit. We would book again.
- Location cannot be better, when it comes to the Old Town in Bratislava
- This was my second or third visit - the services in this hotel are always on par with the best hotels out there
- Quick and easy check-in, booking a taxi for the next day was easy as well
- Very helpful couple of ladies on the reception
The room was spacious, cozy and clean. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The hotel itself is situated about 12-15 minutes on foot from the old town of Bratislava, with the castle and the UFO being only 10 minutes farther. There are also plenty of pubs, bars and stores within walking distance.
Very close to the bus stop at the center. We came to Bratislava by bus from Vienna. Very close to the old town. Super helpful staff. Clean. Very comfortable bed and pillows. We could leave our luggage in the morning and enjoy the city before the next part of our trip. It was a perfect choice.
The hotel is amazing, a great option to stay in Bratislava. The place is quiet, comfortable and the rooms very spacious and clean. The staff very helpful. The location is very close (just a short walk) to old town. I will definetily stay here again when I come back to Bratislava.
Great and cozy hotel. In a very calm and quiet neighbourhood, birds chirping every morning. And yet so close to the city centre and all the touristy streets. All in all, very happy with my choice of this hotel during my first time in Bratislava.
It was right in the heart of Bratislava old town but lovely and quiet and a very good breakfast to start the day. Staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would certainly recommend this charming hotel.
LOFT Hotel is well located in Bratislava, close enough to the old town of Bratislava. I had a big big room, very comfy, to relax. I recommend the home made brewed beers at Fabrika restaurant 👍
A very nice hotel in a very good location near the Old Town of Bratislava. Very clean, 24/7 reception, reasonable price, only 5 minutes walk from the bus I needed to take each day.
The location was perfect! Lots of coffee shops, restaurants, shopping mall nearby! The Danube was in the back of the hotel! Walking distance from the old town center!
