This is a wonderful B&B, and the hostess is very accommodating (we needed a late check-out, for instance). I especially appreciated the fact that, despite the fact that it's an old farmhouse, the bathroom was updated and modern. Very comfortable...

Relax in a 1790 farmhouse on a 20-acre farm with stunning views of the Blue Ridge and local horses and cows. Enjoy a historic house with beautiful antique furnishings, yet all the modern conveniences, including super-comfy beds with handmade quilts. We only offer three guest rooms, so every guest has an intimate, exclusive experience. All three rooms have been updated with a luxurious, fully modern, en-suite bath with shower. Every window provides a tranquil, pastoral view. Full gourmet breakfast included. You have full access to a shared dining and living room, a covered front porch with rocking chairs, a covered back patio with patio furniture, and a huge deck in a boxwood garden, equipped with a grill, six-person table and chairs, and a fire pit with four chairs. So many places for social distancing! Mowed paths provide several options for hikes on the property, including visiting the alpacas, donkeys, and apple orchard. Your host lives on the property and is available for your comfort, assistance, and advice on local travel.
Melinda has always dreamed of being a “gentlewoman farmer” and owning a bed and breakfast. After years of visiting the craft beverage (wine, cider, beer, whiskey) producers of Virginia, she looked for a property in Shenandoah Valley, with views of the Blue Ridge. She is busily planting heritage apple trees and is making cider, cyser (apple and honey), and mead as a hobby. Eventually Melinda plans to build a small tasting room and event center at the back of the farm. A former corporate sustainability manager in the events industry, she brings efforts to carefully manage the environment to her work here, with organic gardening, composting, recycling, and reduction in pesticide use. We hope you enjoy this beautiful home and property as much as she does!
This is a 20-acre farm with hay fields, an apple orchard, alpacas, donkeys, and native plant gardens, surrounded by cattle and horse farms, with beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ideally located 15 minutes from Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Appalachian Trail, Staunton, and Interstates 64 and 81. An easy day trip to Charlottesville, the surrounding wineries, and Monticello.
