The people at Barcelos were great, very friendly and wanted to help. They provided us with names of 4x4 guides, helped with things to see and visit and where to eat. The property is in a great location with walkable restaurants and supermarket. The area was very safe and they have a secure lot to park cars. The city center has a few restaurants which a is longer walk but we decided to drive. The pousada was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and the sauna after our days hiking! Barcelo’s is right near the entrance to Serra Cananstra park and near cheese farms to visit. For breakfast they offerred great local Canastra cheeses, fruits, yogurts, cereal, eggs and these excellent grilled cheese breads, yum!!

Preparing an amazing breakfast for us in the morning to start our adventure, and returning back to authentic Brazilian dinner. Each night was something special! small family owned place, just outside the town and along the road to the national park. the place is simple but very pleasant, wi fi is excellent, a nice common room which leads to all the 6 or so suites. All in all a great place to stay, with an excellent breakfast. the ceiling fan was a bit noisy, but most are anyway.
