I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Azumino guest house and would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxed retreat in the countryside. The family were helpful and generous: helping me plan my route to Kamikochi, offering a lift to the station in the early morning and providing a bike for me to go to the shop. The breakfast was superb! The bed was comfortable and the shower/ bath and toilet facilities were clean and accessible. The walk from the train station is doable, but the road is not well lit so avoid doing it in the dark.

I asked for dinner at very last minute and I didn't expect a super excellent veggie curry rice with handmade potato mochi bread. Staffs are nice and friendly.
