The house was very clean, quiet, and had everything I needed. The location is great — very close to the train, yet in a peaceful neighborhood. It’s also close to the airport, though the trip can take a little longer if you go by metro due to transfers. If you’re staying for a short time, this place is a perfect choice. During my stay, I was lucky to experience the Futon Daiko festival, which is celebrated only in the Sakai area. That made my trip even more meaningful!

Offering air-conditioned rooms in the Shimogyo Ward district of Kyoto, situated between Kamogawa River and Takase canal, Hazuki Kyoto is 20 minutes stroll from Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion District. Amazing hospitality and beautiful historic home refuge away from the super bustling areas. Nice taste of quieter residential living close to the river. Our host was amazingly helpful and gracious. We loved the Japanese bath as well. Also happy to meet “shin” 🐕

Providing free WiFi and a garden in a renovated 50-year old building with mountain views from the property, Rc Hotel Kyoto Yasaka offers accommodation in Kyoto, 600 metres from Kiyomizu-dera Temple. The location is simply perfect. You just need to step out early in the morning to see the streets of Gion without crowds. Kiyomizu-dera is a short walk away. The room is quite spacious compared to regular Japanese hotels. The interiors are quite nice.

A few reviews note that you have to go through downstairs shower area to go upstairs but there is enough privacy, so not really an issue. You do have to go through upper bedroom to go up on the roof, but to be honest we didn't use that area very often as it was just too hot! Good wifi and the TV has Netflix etc if you have accounts. Good location; not so touristy more genuine Osaka! Close to huge shopping street so no problems with food etc.
