Brill Stay in the Killeshin Hotel. My wife and I have been visiting the Portlaoise area at the same time for the past few years. Along with other friends (and another family member), we decided to try the Killeshin for a planned long weekend. Long story short, we have all already booked for the same time next year - such was out positive experience. We bagged a great rate (as we booked well in advance) and were collective thrilled with what that hotel has to offer. In a time when hotels in Ireland are receiving poor PR for price gouging (and then also falling short in value for money), we are delighted to have enjoyed industry leading levels of service and comfort....backed by a fair rake rate. Our experience was that the Killeshin are focused upon impressing you initially and then winning your repeat business. Kudos to all the team.

The Maldron Hotel is just off junction 17 of the M7 motorway, only 5 minute’s drive from Portlaoise town center and O'Moore Park. It features a 20-yard pool, free Wi-Fi, free parking and a gym.

A good location for a stress-free stay in Athy, The Canalside B&B at The Auld Shebeen Bar is a bed and breakfast surrounded by views of the quiet street.
