The rooms are really nice, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was really good, and complete. The staff was amazing, they were really friendly and helpful with all our requests. It was my birthday and my girlfriend planned a surprise for me with the hotel and they were supper helpful and cooperative with everything and managed to keep it a secret from me. The spa is also really nice and calm, although we were travelling during low season so it might get busier during the summer months. Overall, it was a great experience and we had a really nice time.

Located within the walls of the Marvão Castle, at the top of the high village of Marvão, Dom Dinis Marvão features a rooftop terrace with a Jacuzzi® and panoramic views of the countryside below. We got upgraded to the best room, that has a small terrace with a stunning view and direct access to the jacuzzi that we also enjoyed after booking in the reception. Everyone was nice, the room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast.

Surrounded by 80 000m² of beautiful gardens, this 5-star hotel is 4 km from Évora city centre and housed in a renovated 15th-century convent. It offers a piano bar and free parking. LOVED this place. Full of history and ambiance. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and it was fabulous. Great sommelier! The breakfast was amazing. What a selection. We also booked spa treatments so it was super relaxing. We enjoyed the fact that it was outside of Evora for some relaxation and quiet time.

Nice garden, pool, and hot tub. You can tell the owners really put a lot of care into fixing the place up. All of the little details are well thought out. The owners Dennis and Anouk are very nice and friendly. The beds are comfortable and the shower has lots of hot water with good pressure. Highly recommend paying for the breakfast. Can't wait to come back

Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! It was such a privilege to stay right in the heart of a beautiful medieval village. The property is outstanding. Heaps of space, extremely well appointed, especially if you want to cook your own meals. And why not when the views from your terrace are so picturesque. Our host provided lots of helpful information in advance and responded promptly to our questions. The bed was very comfortable and there was zero noise at night so sleep was a breeze. Make sure you follow the advice to drive to the property exactly so you don’t end up down a narrow back street.
