Get there before 8am and the place will be yours to walk around. The Sphinx entrance no longer allows you to go right up close to it. They have fenced it off. They encourage you to take a camel up the hill. The pyramid entrance is possibly best for those who wish to take a taxi journey around all of the sights. They are try to scam you even cleaners try to ask your ticket and cheat you by saying your ticket is not valid here bla bla.. just ignore them all. Do not even answer. If you want to ride horse and camel just bargain. Do not buy ticket for entering Kufru Pyramit. It is extremly expensive and nothing to see.... Get here before the hoards of tourists arrive, early in the morning. It's hard to avoid the touts suggesting horse, cart or camel rides - just ignore them if you can. Going with a guide might help.

The pyramids are nice but the experience was a bit of a disappointment. You are hassled from beginning to end and end up concentrating more on refusing souvenirs and camel rides than you do on taking in this amazing sight. Every single person there ( from your own private guide to souvenir sellers ) seems to think you have gone there to buy a papyrus bookmark. It is frankly ridiculous and really detracts from the experience
