Very beautiful inside and out. Highly recommend doing a walking tour (free - starts outside the Baths diagonally opp from the Abbey) as they give you heaps of cool info about the Abbey and it's sculptures.
The abbey is beautiful, the nasty man at the door with his surly attitude made us want to leave before we had even put a foot in the door. he seemed a lot more focused on whether we handed over the suggested donation than trying to promote the attractions of the Abbey.
Apartment is at back of building so no traffic noise. lovely little balcony which gets the sun in the morning and day. Bath and shower facilities both available. Plenty of space for 2 people. Morrisons only ten mins away which is handy if cooking own meals or for getting a bit of wine. Its outside the bath clean air zone so could avoid driving in that zone. its a good 25 min walk into center of bath (bath abbey) but its close enough to be able to leave the car behind and walk everywhere.
Very central location at Kingsmead Square , within 5 min walking to main Bath attractions like Bath Abbey, Roman Baths, Pulteney Bridge, Royal Cresent, restaurants, Cafes, Train and bus station and shopping belt
Having an iinterest in textile art, I was delighted to discover in Bath Abbey a set of 35 diptychs - each with illustrated manuscript and a textile interpretation of the text. Brilliant!!
Guide books are very comprehensive but it's often best to discover a place and then read the guide book. Excellent staff/ volunteers in the Holburne Museum and Bath Abbey ensured a very enjoyable and informative visit.
