The desk staff were extremely polite and kind. I arrived near lunchtime and asked if there were a good restaurant nearby. The man behind the counter took me outside the hotel and walked me a block and a half to one good restaurant, but it was completely full, so he walked another three blocks with me to show me a parkside restaurant where I enjoyed a delicious leisurely lunch. Everyone at the hotel was so kind, and the facility was very historic and refined. The breakfast buffet was unbelievably fantastic. There were all sorts of delicacies, various types of bread and many different kinds of cheese, scrambled eggs and fabulous crispy bacon, multiple kinds of fresh fruit, including pineapple, which is always a treat. Multiple kinds of jams and local honey as well as tortes and other bakery delights. I was immediately served a frothy hot cappuccino. I was never made to feel uncomfortable as a solo traveler, and the entire hotel experience was very gracious.

Verona Arena
A sprawling site high in the mountains, the citadel of Machu Picchu was hidden to the outside world until 1911. The most iconic of the Incan sites, visitors flock to see the impressive Temple of the Sun, Temple of Three Windows and a ritual time-telling stone called the Inti Watana. Surrounding structures have been extensively restored, so you can wander between the buildings just like the locals did all those centuries ago.

An excellent amphitheater in the centre of Verona, no time limit on your ticket so enjoy walking around the arena and enjoy the view from the top tier.
Sensible shoes / trainers are needed as the steps are quite deep and depending on the time of year this can become very busy. My top tip is to visit early in the day to get the best experience.

Don't miss the Opera in the 2000 year old Arena.
Don't miss the Opera in the 2000 year old Arena. A breathtaking bucket-list experience.
My number one tip if you are booking a seat on the stone steps is to choose one in a row at the front of the block of seats, so that you can stretch your legs out. Especially if you are tall.
The Opera is long (3-4 hours) and the rows of seats are close together plus it can be very hot at night in the Opera season.

The appartment is very close to the train station, and in walking distance from Verona Arena. It was great to have refrigerator and coffee machine in the room.

This is a huge apartment! It had two large bedrooms and two large bathrooms. There was a charming outdoor space and a large living room. We rented it because we were going to the Verona Arena for the opera and knew we'd be out late and wanted to be able to walk back home quickly. And the location couldn't be beat! It is just blocks to the arena and in the middle of restaurants and stores. Someone met us to give us the key and helped us with our luggage, which was kind.

Excellent location, just 5 minutes from the Verona Arena area. Very clean apartment. The host greeted us with the warmest hospitality and made sure we had all was needed. The communication via WhatsApp with the host prior to arrival was also excellent. Surely will be an option again.

The apartment was perfectly located; extremely close to the Verona arena and other historical sites as well as a supermarket and many restaurants. I couldn’t have picked a better location. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was very spacious and clean. Having 2 bathrooms was wonderful for our family of 5 people. I would definitely choose to stay here again if our family makes it back to Verona.

This apartment is like a work of art blending the original features of the historic property with a very modern design. It looks just like the pictures online. The host opened the door and showed us around the property as soon as we arrived. He was flexible with our giving him our arrival time on the morning of the day we arrived. He had added some very nice snacks and drinks in the apartment for us. We walked to the Verona arena for the opera and it was an easy, short walk. Truly a beautiful place and stay.

very nice, recently renovated apartment. It locates in quiet residential area in about 25 min walk from city center (Verona Arena). Many places for parking around, some of them for an additional cost, but you can find even free spaces. All amenities work perfectly. Quite good Italian style self service breakfast is provided. Tea or coffee could be prepared at any time at the kitchen.
