Hotels near Battery Park, New York

I have been traveling to the U.S. for over 20 years and have stayed at many hotels in Manhattan. I can now say that I have found my hotel. The rooms at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manhattan Downtown are large by Manhattan standards. But honestly, who comes to Manhattan to spend time in the hotel? The entire hotel is extremely clean. The rooms are spotless and the bathroom had zero percent mold. It is simply a great hotel that I will recommend to anyone traveling to New York. The staff is consistently friendly and everyone is helpful. It is just a great place to stay.

I have been to NYC many times and usually opt to stay more downtown, however I decided to stay in South Ferry and at this hotel, and I could not praise it enough. I was greeted with friendly and welcoming reception staff who are accommodating, and made you feel like a valued guest. I was on the 16th floor with views of the river and it couldn’t have been more perfect. The bathroom was clean, spacious and included shampoo/conditioner/bodywash/moisturiser and a mirror with a built in light around the rim which made getting ready very easy! The temperature control was easy and changes quickly upon your request, just a simple flick switch for heat/air, as I visited in January I used the heat more and it warmed the room up within 5 minutes. The bed was very large (larger than a UK king size bed) which was fantastic and very comfortable. Daily housekeeping was also a nice touch and they did a fantastic job. The windows had both a blind and curtains which was handy for when you wanted natural light but didn’t want office workers to see you, the curtains are blackout too at night. I have seen a few people complain at the construction noise, which I didn’t get being this high up. There definitely was construction going on in the street and in the hotel lobby but this didn’t disturb me at all, the widows are very good at blocking sound out and come to think of it so are the walls, I heard nothing from either side of me. The WiFi was reliable, fast and easy to connect. Downstairs in the lobby is a computer with printer access which was SO handy as I needed to print a ticket for a show, there was no charge for this. I also noticed an ATM and free coffee in the mornings. On my next visit to NYC I will be staying here again, without a shadow of a doubt. They highly exceeded my expectations and it’s so worth the (short) subway ride from downtown.

Very good location, near to subway stations. Very nice staff, clean room. Friendly bartenders that can help with nice drinks at the end of long walking day. :)

The hotel was very beautiful. We had a wonderful New Year holiday with our family. I sincerely recommend it to everyone!

Amazing downtown location, at the door steps of Soho, can walk easily to the subway stations! Easy commute everywhere else. Stuff is nice-front desk and cleaning ladies!!! Toilet was fixed quickly) Beds are quality and large! Overall, great value for money. We will return!

The location of the hotel is perfect! Only 14 min walk from Manhattan bridge, walk street and close to the ferry for Staten Island! Amazing value for the money. The rooms are well heated, which is great in winter! Clean and spacious! Bed is very comfortable! Our bathroom shower had a great pressure! The receptionists were kind and gave us plenty of tips of where to eat in China town and about the subway lines. Rooms are also sound insulated and one can rest well at the hotel.

Location in downton Manhattan. It was Quiet Location. Close to us was a Subway station.

Exceptional service and a luxurious room.

Big room. Not the classic layout for hotel rooms. We got a room with some kind of living room "area" separating the bedroom from the rest with steps, giving the whole place a 3 levels dimension. Nice and classy. Big TV screen, lots of channels. Lot of space to store belongings. Cool sofa and chair. Rather spacious bathroom as well. 2 sinks, large mirrors, a shower with 2 showerheads (1 fixed / 1 handheld) and a bathtub. Very quick elevator. Only little noise from other rooms and corridor (maybe we were lucky the whole week). Easy to use safe. The hotel has a distinctive art deco style with chromes, metals... Several entrances onto Pine and Cedar streets. Some shops close to the hotel (or inside 70 Pine). We can recommand a very good small Japanese restaurant on Cedar St: Goku Kitchen NYC. The hotel is a stroll away from the subway lines 2 and 3. Broadway street with plenty of is 5 min away if you walk at a leisurely pace.
