Lodgings in Shinano

I like the ambiance and also the closeness to my location. It is such a great place to stay, be alone or be with your friends or family. The manager, was also so nice.

It was very comfortable and cozy. Service was excellent and was situated in front of the lake Nojiri, so the view in the morning was beautiful. Breakfast was served well and quick, thanks to the host (Chris) for the hospitality.

From the moment a guest walks in, the host, Ted, makes them feel at home. Beds are comfortable, lake views are lovely, breakfast is delicious, and the playlists to accompany morning coffee are great!

The staff were kind and very informative. The design and the decorations are so warm and cozy. It is very clean everywhere. There's fresh water available. They provided one free towel, tooth brush, ear plug and the clothes for Sauna as well. The little bar and the dining area decorated well. The view from our room is facing the Lake. My friend watched the beautiful sunrise from the window! We added ¥5000 per person for the Sauna (& ice bath) and it was amazing! But you have to make a reservation before using it. So, please remember to reserve this at the reception if you're interested.

The owner of the place was very nice and friendly.

Best snow experience for my kids

It is exceptionally clean and well organized

The room is so clean, spacious and very comfortable. The staff is very accommodating and very welcoming. Highly recommended!!

The sauna and cold plunge ++ Comfortable bed ++ Such cool architecture ++

The first message I received from the property said “I would like to share accurate information about our accommodation, as some parts of the auto‑generated Booking.com description may not fully reflect the actual layout of the property.” Given that I had paid and my reservation was non-refundable, I was pretty disappointed that I had been misled.

The beautiful view of the lake, the owner was extremely nice and helpful. The cabin was cozy and very clean. It was Christmas so my partner and I had enough space and were able to add a tree to the living room.

What a beautiful place in the woods. Excellent views of all things beautiful! Thank you very much.

Clean and spacious. Super nice host, shared us a lot of things about Japan.

Amazing stay. Brendon, Ash, Travis, and Nev were all fantastic. Picked me up from the station and made me feel at home from the moment I stepped inside. Great restaurant and breakfast. You can see the lifts from the lodge. I would absolutely stay here again and already wish I could come back!

Breakfast was great. Very fresh and nice.

Lovely place, excellent location, and the most wonderful family hosts. We will definitely stay again.

Staff were super friendly and helpful

The property is beautiful and well kept with a lovely open air onsen. The views are breathtaking! The breakfast buffet was over the top and the French restaurant was delicious! Complimentary afternoon snacks and drinks was an added bonus! The shuttle to and from the train station was a blessing and the staff was incredibly efficient and kind.

Staff were very friendly, our room was simple but large compared with all of our other stays in Japan. Beds were comfortable and the temperature was perfect with individual heaters in each room. They have plenty of storage for snowboard/ski gear in a separate room. The walk is about 10 minutes uphill to the bus stop & a resort lift, this was no problem for us but this could be more challenging for some. They do offer lifts to and from the bus stop/ski resort from the accommodation for one hour in the morning and after your ski day which is helpful with ski boots! Breakfast was toast and hot fresh made to order eggs, sausage & ham as well as coffee and a selection of tea. We were there over Chinese New Year and welcomed for a traditional dinner with the hosts and their visiting family which was awesome. Normally they offer a paid dinner if you plan with them the day before. Bathrooms and showers are shared but were very clean. Overall we had a wonderful, quiet and restful stay here, thank you!

We forgot something and they chased it and safely returned to us

The hosts are fabulous people and their level of care exceeded our expectations in every aspect.

Breakfast and dinner is amazing

Beautiful home, well appointed. Fantastic location for ski/snowboard vacation.
