Beautiful onsen facilities, with the option to check out sister hotels at no cost. Great staff, and a shout out to Sato for the restaurant recommendations and help with reservations!
i like tatami table and futon bed it's very new experience for my entire family, love the traditional room, big room for family, near from the ski area, onsen, easy to find food around there
Loved the place - really convenient location for skiing, and just a short walk up the slope. We took the escalator up at Jupeer before walking up the hill to avoid the slippery bit near the road. Great host and awesome music collection - loved all the jazz, soul and funk tunes throughout the day. Also great breakfast and dinner at the hotel!
The hosts are amazing and incredibly friendly and helpful.
How close the ski was, how friendly the staff was. The food was amazing.
+ brand new facility + brilliant location, right next to Yokokura Slope No.23, where you could meet most of the lesson instructors there. + convenient unmanned check in procedures. + got a new rack and storage spaces for snowboards, helmet and boots. + free car park in front of the property.
Staff is very nice and helpful. Shuttle bus service.
The owners/staff are extremely kind and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. They allowed me to check in early and even let me use the onsen in the afternoon after checkout.
The staff were so nice and helpful. The hotel is amazing and beautiful! Food was wonderful and Onsen was relaxing and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again for 2 nights next time!
Amazing place, super clean, great onsen, amd there is even some massage chairs in the common area!!
We think the food and rooms are amazing. We also loved the public baths
員工非常親切,地理位置非常好
An exceptional and authentic experience. The food was delicious, the staff was so welcoming and professional. This place heals your body and soul. 12/10!! We will be back for sure, recommended!!!
Zao Shiki no Hotel was perfect. The staff were kind, approachable and helpful. The attention to detail/ cleanliness was exceptional. Our room was spacious, clean, warm and we loved the sweet treats, massage chair and the bath with a view of the snow. Breakfast catered to all tastes and was so convenient. The hotel is located within 5-10 minutes of town, only a short walk, and we found it very easy each day to walk to the chair lift. Google maps wasn’t often very accurate about which restaurants were open, so we quickly put our phones away and enjoyed walking the snowy town, finding hidden gems, which were always easy to walk to the hotel from. Ski hire and storage was also so great. We loved our week in Zao and could not recommend staying at Zao Shiki more!!!
We appreciated the breakfast choices and enjoyed our meals in the lovely dining area!
Very friendly and helpful staff, warm and clean rooms, onsen in the building, rental and lift tickets, storage in the building. Coffee machine available at extra price in the lobby
The room was very beautiful! just like a tatami room should be!:)
I absolutely loved this place! Everything was great, the traditional japanese room, amenities, onsens, food... And the people! They were incredible, it was like having a new family! I am extremely grateful to all of them for taking such good care of me, the foreigner. They made my stay wonderful and memorable.
great place to stay and felt like part of the family staying there
The location of this property cant be beat. You walk up the street about a minute or so, and youre at the slope, which you ride down to the lift. Its also about a 5 min walk to Lawsons as well as several great restaurants. There are 3 natural onsen within the same vicinity. Also, the owner of the property is one of the kindest and most hospitable hosts Ive encountered. He went out of his way to ensure I had what I needed and was comfortable staying there. Very friendly, easy to talk to, and makes for great conversation. The breakfast is also fantastic--its a full Japanese-style breakfast (fish, rice, vegetables) which doesnt vibe well w/ some folks, but its delicious.
Good location, professional service and staff can use english very well
We absolutely love the atmosphere of this place. The old wood panel walls and the giant logs that make up the frame in the lobby, have a rustic charm that leaves us relaxed and feeling like we’re somewhere overseas. I’m not a huge fan of jazz, but I love the sound of it in the lobby coming through through the old warm speakers near the fireplace. The food is another plus about this place. I’m not a huge fan of super fancy and pretentious food. What they serve here is good and substantial so you’re not left craving something else in 20 minutes. for dinner we actually got lunch items. We probably could have gotten away with ordering two lunch entrées for the three of us because they’re that filling. The buffet breakfast was fantastic. Unlike the buffet at a business hotel where you’re looking for something that’s the least unappealing to eat, for this buffet there were so many things that looked so good that it was a challenge not to overheat actually we skip lunch this afternoon because we ate so much at breakfast today.
Wonderful onsen hotel, with very helpful and accommodating staff. Great location, beautiful outdoor onsen pools, and having access to so many other onsens in thtoo through our stay here was an unexpected bonus. Would definitely recommend.
Keiko, you are a wonderful host, such an angel. We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying with you and we will be back. Thank you so much for having us.
