We stayed at the Soraypampa Hostel on the 1st night of our Salkantay trek. Great place to overnight, one of the few places in the area where this is possible if you trek self-guided without being part of an organized tour. We had a bungalow (glass ceiling), without a private bathroom. The bungalow was very well organized (several options for storing items) and several blankets were offered, room was clean. The glass ceiling idea is nice, but in reality it doesn't really work, it was super hot in the room during the day (as the sun was shining inside) and foggy at night due to our breathing, so we couldn't see the stars from the bungalow anyway, perfectly visible from outside though. It was possible to pay by card (no 5% added) for the accommodation and the meals. We could only pay cash for the transportation (they sent us a message in advance on booking mentioning they offer transportation via minibus). Dinner and breakfast were at fixed hours, so be there or be square. Nothing fancy offered as food, but good enough given the setting. 20 soles per meal per person. Electricity cut off around 18:30, so make sure you charge your stuff before that. WiFi worked a little more, also reasonably stable. Several people got refused for accommodation while we were there, since it was fully booked, therefore we recommend booking in advance. Great view from this location, perfect start for the Humantay Lake trek.

Extremely friendly staff, especially Manuel! Very comfortable rooms and accommodations. Really beautiful property...our room overlooked a beautiful valley with gorgeous views of the rainforest. Great dinner + breakfast, and they also made us lunches to take on the trail! A really lovely stay.

Great stay after a hard day on the Salkantay! The shower is hot, the bed is comfortable and the view is amazing. The dinner and breakfast are also really good. We were able to order a sandwich as well for the next day.

Salkantay Lodge was great. I arrived earlier than planned and they organized lunch for me as well. The cabins are very quiet and comfortable. Meals were AMAZING! I would definitely recommend!

For just $18 I had lodging, dinner, and breakfast! Food was tasty, and the host was kind and helpful. The room was cold at night, which was expected, and they provided warm blankets.

The breakfast was delicious! Also, the family was very welcoming and friendly. It felt like a really nice break from busy hostels along the trek. We would stay here again!

Our hosts were very nice, welcoming, and informative. Signage made it super easy to find the property from our trek. The hanging nest where we stayed had warm beds, a private bathroom, and a beautiful view of the valley. Our breakfast and dinner were both delicious :)
