The large tatami room is very well suited for family traveling. Too bad that there is only one room like this one in the hotel. Special thanks to the staff member who welcomed us and helped us a lot to find a solution for a room for one additional person in group , despite the busy period of holiday. This staff member was really dedicated.

This was our fourth trip to Japan and we've stayed in many ryokans. This is one of our favorites. The space we stayed at was huge. It was a two-story stand alone building. The seats looked out onto the courtyard with a pond and a lot of trees, which was very peaceful. I'm usually not the type to stay in my hotel/ryokan all day, but this place tempted me to do so due to the serenity of the courtyard. There were two private onsen that were easy to access due to the small number of guests that stay here. The food was fabulous. While walking around one morning I found a hiking trail that led up to castle ruins. The next morning I hiked up to the ruins and down the other side and came out near the Moss Land.
