We stayed for only 1 night during our cycling trip. It was a dreamy hostel. Our room window was facing the sea. The shared bathroom and kitchen were very cleaned and comfortable. the surroundings were wonderful.

We booked two rooms for our family of four. We were pleasantly surprised how spacious they were, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The host was incredibly kind, he suggested the best places to eat and buy locally produced lemon pastries, and when we were leaving, he brought his cat, Tiger, and waved goodbye to us. As we were on a three-day bike trip and only had our small backpacks with us, we loved the fact that everything was provided: shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, etc. In each room there were even a couple of bottles of water and everything for making tea and coffee. In the common spaces there was a microwave, guidebooks, manga books, and a wall full of Toso Maps of the Shimanami Kaido trail. We will definitely book Bed&Cafe Onzo again next time we bike the Shimanami Kaido!

Taka and Kana were amazing hosts. I fell from my bike right before arriving to their place and they were very helpful with going to the hospital, returning the bike, getting around the island, etc. I appreciate very much their help and time. Their place is lovely and cozy. Thank you very much!

What a fantastic experience. Now that I've stayed, I can see why all the reviews are so positive. This guesthouse is PERFECTLY outfitted to provide a comfortable experience for travelers. It's visually stunning, and contains everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is no food in easy walking distance, but the local Family Mart is an easy bike ride - and the kitchen is *well* outfitted. There are even some snacks, instant ramen, and curry / rice available for purchase (honor system) if you are hungry. The service from the staff was also wonderful. I'll be sure to go out of my way to stay here again if I'm in the area. Like another review said: Book with your eyes closed!

The staff are extremely helpful and kind. If you fall asleep easily and are not woken by noise, this hostel is a great place to stop and rest if you want to cycle the Shimanami Kaido over the course of 2 days. They have free green tea, face masks, pajamas, razors, cotton buds, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, hair dryer, slippers, and a drawer in the room that you can lock your valuables in. The male and female bathrooms are in separate rooms, and the two stalls in the back of the shower room are female only. You can get food and drinks from the FamilyMart (1 minute walk across the street) and consume them in the cafe for free.
