Throughout it all, the staff was incredibly accommodating and supportive, especially the overnight team. I feel terrible for not remembering their names, but once they understood the reason behind my stay, they treated me like a member of their own family. They checked in on me regularly, asked about my well-being and how my family was holding up, and were always there to lend a listening ear—whether I needed to vent or cry, or offer a laugh when they knew I desperately needed a break from reality. Their kindness helped me through what felt like a living nightmare. I truly don’t know how I would’ve managed without them. Each "Make sure you're taking care of yourself too" as I returned to my room at night and every kind word of support not enough hours later, gave me the strength to face another day. They may not realize it, but their compassion made all the difference.

The selection of artwork was thought provoking and color schemes were restful,; mostly smokey neutrals. The first thing I did was to pull out my iPad, so I could send photos to friends and family, the 2nd thing I did was to pull out my receipt, because I believed I had spent much less than I should have for such a grand hotel. We had just come in from York, where I had spent enough money to keep referring to it as “our splurge hotel”. The Dakota was exactly £10 more than half (yes, half) the cost of the hotel in York. Even if there were nothing to do in Newcastle, but there is, it would be worth going, just to stay in this spotlessly clean and hospitable hotel.. the staff was world class. I hope Dakota becomes a big player in the hospitality business, because I would be a loyal customer.

Trish took great care of us, especially my daughter, giving her time with the horses and donkeys and making her feel part of the family atmosphere they have in the stables. Unfortunately, Jon was not there during our stay, but still maintained an excellent job with the communication.
