Free flow drink for evening until 11pm - beer, sake, juice, ice-cream etc. staffs are great, able to speak English very well. The location also great, able to walk to the whole Takayama city centre.

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. Guest House Ouka is about 11mins walk from Takayama station, the route was pretty straight forward - just a straight line! The Guest House itself is cosy and well decorated. On 1/F you will find the reception counter and a home-like common area, the kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, cookware and long dining tables, Shower rooms are just next to the kitchen. My single room was on the 2/F which was clean, warm and spacious!! (with comfy bed/ chair/ hair dryer/ mirror/ small laundry rack etc. and a warm welcome note :) Restroom/ washing machine (200yen)/ tumble dryer/ Laundry racks/ washbasins were just few steps away. Staffs were so friendly and helpful, luggage storage was also available before check in and after check out. I had a great time in Ouka and Takayama, will definitely come back next time (and stay for few more days!)

Location was amazing- walking distance from the station and from the old town. The place was beautiful, and the rooms had everything. Futons were very comfy. The onsen was the best I tried so far (but I haven’t tried a lot). We did the private bath, and it was really nice. They also lend you yukatas to wear around the ryokan. And the staff were very friendly, hospitable and helpful!

Everything was perfect. The staff was very welcoming, and the room was very comfortable.

Absolutely one of the best places we stayed in japan. Great food with vegan options.

The property is around 8.4 km from Otsumago, 10 km from Kotoku-ji Temple and 10 km from Sekibutsu Kanzan Jittoku Statue. The guest house features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The room was comfortable for my family and the kids loved to play in the gym.

The property is non-smoking and is located 100 metres from Joinji Temple. There is nothing to dislike about the Nomad Inn. It’s a beautiful house with gorgeous views. The owner, Mr Masa is a very sweet person who was always happy to give suggestions and guide us. He helped us with our luggage and transportation as well, I can’t thank him enough. The house is close to attractions while being in a quiet area and also has all amenities you would need. I really wish I’d booked more time but will definitely be back
