This hotel was basically a whole wellness experience dream come to life! The staff were so nice and friendly, and the amenities were everything you could possibly need and more. The onsens were beautiful, immaculate and clean - and the hotel breakfast was definitely one of the best meals I’ve ever had! The late night soba hit the spot and the snacks were endless (popsicles, yakult, drinks in the lobby machine). Also loved the super comfortable yukatas and pjs that the hotel provided. It’s easily walkable distance from a JR station (just one stop away from Kyoto station), and there are multiple bus stops within a 5-10 minute walk that can take you all over Kyoto. It’s across the street from a 7-11, and right next to one of the prettiest parks!

It was well located and the neighborhood was quiet, yet close to some of Kyoto's main tourist attractions.

Hotel facilities were outstanding, and the hotel is right beside a JR station that takes you directly to Kyoto station (just one stop away). Overall pretty centrally located, but a bit far if you mostly want to be in the Higashiyama/Gion area.

We've been to Japan many times, but Umekoji Potel is number one on our list. Would love to stay again next time.
