The washrooms and toilets were spotless and very well-maintained, adding to the comfort of our stay. Every aspect of the place was thoughtfully designed to ensure a fantastic experience. We loved everything about our visit and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a perfect getaway near Mount Fuji. We can’t wait to return!

Set in Fujikawaguchiko, less than 1 km from Lake Kawaguchi, HOSTEL MICHIKUSA-YA offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The 3-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with a shared bathroom and free WiFi. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. Place is very clean, owner speaks English and is very helpful and considerate. The dormitory has 12 people capacity but it is not fully used on purpose, in order to keep the place comfortable for all guests. The Mt Fuji view from the shared space/garden is spectacular in the morning, on a clear day (see my pic). Hostel is located in a quite neighborhood a bit out of the tourist attractions, 15-20 minutes walk from the bridge. I stayed there for two nights and rented a bike for 2 days so I can ride back to the hostel. Would definitely stay again.

We opted for the half-board option. Dinner was excellent. Breakfast was alright. We loved the room, the hot tub in the room and the very helpful staff. And of course the Mt. Fuji view. We were on the 3rd floor, but we still got a good view of the mountain.

Parking. Large room. Good public onsen. Overwall one of the better hotels we stayed in in Japan.

The hospitality of the staff was exceptional—truly on another level. We thoroughly enjoyed the kaiseki dinner and breakfast, both of which were outstanding. If you’re considering staying here, don’t hesitate—it’s worth every yen. I had my first onsen experience here and it unforgettable (in the best way possible). While it’s technically public, the hotel has only 13 rooms, making it feel almost semi-private. I had mine at 6 AM and had the whole place to myself! 😉 P.S.
