Peace and quite . Brilliant view . All what you need for nice rest
The milk barn was very nice and the garden was beautiful, views were beautiful rolling hills pastures. The kitchen was large as were the bedrooms and bathroom and well equipped. There’s a large patio partly covered.
Everything! It was a home away from Home.
December visit so coldish weather (6C) but fine. The house was large with a good range of bedrooms and bathrooms to suit our party of 8 adults and 2 young children. Bedrooms were warm and showers effective. Downstairs there was a very large lounge with old saggy couches, throws/blankets to wrap up in if wanted and a wood burning stove and supply of wood. This was used to boost the heat when we were using the lounge, mainly in the evening. The smaller lounge had a seperate wood stove effect electric heater that was used when we were using this room as otherwise too cold to sit in as no other heating. It warmed up very quickly but needed fire on at regular intervals to maintain comfortable sitting temperature in the winter conditions. TVs in both lounges but didn't use them. WiFi available. Very large kitchen /dining room equiped with everything needed. Again cold untill wall heating panel discovered and turned on about an hour before we wanted to eat. This was an early 'family Christmas' get together so the large table easily seating our party of 10 was a bonus. The property had its own designated parking with plenty of room for multiple cars. Owners were happy to answer telephone queries about things we couldn't initially find. This was a mid December stay so while there seemed to be facilities for barbeques etc. we did not use them! This is a large rambling house, not luxery living but comfortable, ideal for large groups especially well positioned for both exploration of Exmoor and Dartmoor areas and as well as family groups would suit walking clubs etc.
The location was good for exploring places on Exmoor.
