Pingyao Ji Family Courtyard Inn está ubicado en Pingyao, en la región de Shanxi, a 2 minutos a pie de Qingxu Guan y a 300 metros de North First Escort, y ofrece un jardín. The best hotel I have ever stayed in. Amazing location, right in the center of ancient town of Pingyao but still very quiet. The room is very beautiful, clean and there is all you need for a comfortable stay. Ji is amazing. I highly recommend a short or longer stay at the Ji Family Courtyard Inn.

If you want the romance of a traditional courtyard with true boutique-hotel comfort, stay here. The property is brand-new, immaculate, and beautifully lit at night. Rooms are quiet and minimalist with great water pressure, reliable fast Wi-Fi, plenty of bedside outlets, and strong AC/heat. The bed and linens meet Western comfort standards. Breakfast can be chosen Chinese or Western—I tried both during my stay and each was fresh, well-presented, and generous (fresh juice and good coffee/tea included). Staff were proactive and friendly, arranged luggage pickup from the city gate, and communicated smoothly in English. The location is perfect for walking the lanes yet peaceful once inside the courtyard. Tips for Western travelers: cars can’t enter the old town, so message the hotel for pickup; wear comfortable shoes; and leave time to simply enjoy the courtyard—part heritage museum, part modern gallery. A flawless stay.

I really made the right choice with this homestay in Pingyao! The location is absolutely a hidden gem—just a two-minute walk gets you to Rishengchang Bank, so there’s no need to get up early to soak in the Jin merchant culture. It’s super convenient to head back for a break after visiting the attractions. What’s more, the surrounding area is bustling with life. When you stroll out in the evening, the lanterns light up, and old shops and street food stalls are right in front of you, full of that lively, authentic vibe. No need to hunt for places to eat; just step into any spot, and it’s sure to be delicious. The biggest surprise, though, is the service here—they truly take care of every little detail. When I checked in, the owner warmly introduced local attractions, even telling me which shop has the most authentic Pingyao beef and the best time to visit Rishengchang to avoid crowds. That kind of thoughtful care makes the whole trip feel so warm. I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back to Pingyao. Great location, amazing atmosphere, and service that’s second to none—highly recommended!

La amabilidad de los propietarios. Se esforzaban por que estuviéramos cómodos y todo a nuestro gusto. El día de nuestra partida se ofrecieron a llevarnos hasta la estación de tren, lo cual fué un puntazo pues hacía muchísimo frío y estaba nevando y al estar el hotel dentro de la zona amurallada de la ciudad, los taxis no podían llegar hasta la puerta.

Yuncheng Yunxi Furusato-Banma Resort está ubicado en Yuncheng, a 27 km de Yuncheng North Railway Station, y ofrece alojamiento con una pileta al aire libre, estacionamiento privado gratis, un gimnasio... Friendly and polite staff, very welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious dishes at affordable prices. It is the perfect place to relax for the weekend. The Guandi Family Temple is only a 10min walk from the property, very easy to reach and totally worth the visit. As for other tourism attractions although a bit far, the hotel can recommend drivers and the prices are acceptable.

Elsewhere Hotel Inn North Street Branch está ubicado en Pingyao, a 2 minutos a pie de Erlang Temple y a 700 metros de Huiwulin Traditional Wushu Gallery. The location is really nice, in the old city. The staff was amazing, very helpful and nice, made us feel at home. The room was clean and confortable. Breakfast was also good, american style.

The host is incredible, going out of her way to make certain guests are cared for. She helped us know where to visit in the expansive area is Wutai mountain. When we had trouble with entrance into the resort area, she came to the front to help us work through the registration difficulties; we asked about seeing a sun rise and she arranged a trip the took us to a gorgeous pilgrimage site; she arranged a shuttle service that took us directly to the airport for a lower cost than bus service and taking 3 hours less time - really a remarkable host. Meanwhile she’s also hosting other guests and running the restaurant. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and adorable with a beautiful tea table set in a window. The room was always ready with water, snacks and tea. Staying at this location allowed us to enjoy the area of Wutai mountain to the fullest extent possible.
