The owners were friendly and extremely helpful, and gave us exactly the sort of information we wanted about local amenities and sights. They contacted me well before the reservation, and gave me a lowdown on the area, which I was able to keep in a file for when I arrived. We visited the Rathcrogan complex, as well as the National Famine Museum. They also let me know about a partial eclipse that was happening that night, which I got up for - the Kilcorkey Standing Stone is right next to them (in a private field, and therefore not fully accessible - but not far from a seating area in the Old Mill property), which was amazing to see up close during an eclipse. The bedrooms were perfect; it was myself and my mother, so we each had our own room. The shower was great, with excellent water pressure. The downstairs was a great landing spot for organizing our stuff, as well as providing for a spot to cook/make tea. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The peace and tranquility of Teachiń milis Móinéir were second to none. Host Karen has thought of everything to make her guest's stay exceptional. We could not have asked for more. The cosy stove in the evenings (logs and fire log to start included) the welcome pack of bread, milk and butter, tea and coffee, bottled water in case you don't like the tap water (which is fine btw), toiletries in case you've forgotten your own. We wanted for nothing and being honest, were reluctant to leave this little haven!

They even bought us some soda bread and potato cakes which was completely unexpected because my wife mentioned it in chatting, which was an amazing personal touch. Looking out at cows first thing in a morning and last thing at night was lovely. Great, quiet, location within 10 minutes drive of Castlerea with a supermarket and a few nice pubs for food. Two minutes drive to one of the major roads straight into Dublin made travelling very easy.
