We appreciated that the home was welcoming and clean, beds were very comfortable, the hosts were friendly, hospitable and accommodating with our late arrival, and the breakfast was generous and delicious.

The place was very nice and the owners were very friendly and helpful. It is a wonderful escape from the chaos and noise of the modern world. The location of Maison de Charme is in the middle of 1000 lakes of La Dombes region. Getting there and about is very serene filled with wildlife and ranches of horses that makes you feel like you have timetraveled. The house is very cozy and perfect for a small family retreat.

A unique accommodation in the French countryside. Hostess Marion welcomed us on arrival with a tour and history of the chateau and its owners. The structures are ancient but the amenities, including nice firm bed with fluffy duvet, modern and very comfortable. Fun to watch the property's pair of donkeys grazing as we sipped Beaujolais wine on the terrace. Easy drive to medieval villages in Ain, including nearby Pérouges, and Beaujolais wine route. Lovely nearby restaurants (in Joyeux and Versailleux) serving local specialties for dinner, just a few minutes' drive away.
