Real boatmen leaving for fishing in early mornings. The check-in was very formal where we were greeted by Shreyashi who surprised us with a traditional head cap and glass of welcome drink. The rooms were kingly decorated. There were plenty of programs/activities. In the evening, Buddhadev invited many guests for a complimentary photo shoot with his special camera. And a framed portrait was ready at check out! Truely amazing services. The breakfast spread was rich, with numerous choices of South Indian themes. During this years circuit tour of India, I am spending my consecutive nights in similar hotels in multiple regions of India. Food wise it is very comparable to the better ones - all are featured by dosa, omelet bar, and too many choices. Additionally, here a locally costumed musician lighted up the morning environment with the sweet tune of flute.

This family-run estate spread across 20-acres offers accommodation in Masinagudi at the foothills of the Nilgiris. Everything was perfect. I decided to go here after reading all the amazing reviews about this place, vibe, hospitality and food. And it did not disappoint :) The deers are everywhere!! We opted to go for the bird watching activity and the guide was extremely well versed with all the birds. They also have freshly made jams and pickles for sale. I love the fact that this place felt so homely and they employ the local folk from the nearby village. If you're lucky, you might end up spotting elephants or bears.

Visalam is a century-old lovingly-restored palatial home in Kanadukathan village of the Chettinad region in Tamil Nadu. the staff was very nice and helpful and most important: thinking along! about a tour by foot, bikes, instructions for driving to nearby places when leaving, in trying to explain customs and arranging our next transfer. really nice ! the room was extraordinary large and well equipped. my son was wondering in which direction we would sleep, because the bed was so large, all directions were possible. the floor was cleaned even it was still clean, the bed was unfold at night. nice furniture also in the common rooms. breakfast outside and a clean pool. very nice to cycle around in town, no busy traffic.

The Staff Mr. Mathan was very humble, friendly and helpful throughout our stay, he helped us with clean spacious rooms, late check-out, he got us good food from outside, the pool was very clean, it was a very safe stay and private kind of environment, the owner Mr. Balamurugan had called us in prior and gave us alternative option for our early check- in request. This stay is very near to the beach as well. Highly recommended for group or for couples. Over all experience in this stay was pleasant.
