I recently had the pleasure of staying at Al Salam Camp in Bidiyah, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience. The camp’s location is simply excellent; we reached it easily with our normal saloon car, which was a pleasant surprise given the desert setting. The staff at Al Salam Camp were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We opted for the Deluxe tent, which was spacious and beautifully designed, offering a unique boutique experience. The open-air shower facilities added a special touch, allowing us to enjoy the natural surroundings while maintaining comfort. One of the highlights of our stay was the food. The buffet BBQ dinner was truly exceptional, with a variety of delicious options that catered to all tastes. Everything was prepared to perfection, and we couldn't have asked for a better dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend Al Salam Camp for anyone looking for a budget-friendly and peaceful night in the desert. It’s the perfect escape, combining comfort, excellent service, and a stunning location.

We wanted to hike but in April was already too hot. We enjoyed the swimming pool even if the water didn't look very clean after the yelling crowd of children who camped inside the pool for hours on Friday night. We ate at the restaurant there and many items on the menu were not available. We happily survived as we asked to have dinner on an elevated terrace and the susnset and the stars were really enjoyable.

The drive from Hatta to Mahdah is just breathtaking.

The drive from Hatta to Mahdah is just breathtaking. I would recommend everyone to try this drive and stay among the mountains for a couple of nights. Get away from all the chaos and busy city life and take a breath of fresh air.

Mahdah is a nice place for running away from the city and it's rush. There are probably only 2 resorts to stay in (Wadi Sharam resort and Irtihal Hotel which is little far) there are 2 main gardens top visit Medal garden which is 2 garden separated by a mountain and a nicely made stairs where you can walk across and enjoy the views from the top of the mountain. the second garden is named al-Kahf garden which mean the cave garden when translated. Nice small garden, which has a nice hike of 8 kilos approx surrounding the garden. Mahdah is better rrecommended to visit during winter (Nov to Feb). I visited Mahdah in June and temperature was 47-48 degrees Celsius. It is very close to Buraimi and they can be planned for visit together. There are important Wadi's to visit and enjoy, these are Wadi Sharam, Wadi Al-Qahfi and wadi Khamis. Unfortunately they were dry when I visited probably because of summer season but I have seen the photos online post rains where they look very wow for swimming and enjoying with family and friends. Mahdah is also close to UAE border and it can be visited as a stop on the way for relaxation for a day or two. It lacks restaurants but because Buraimi is next door, so it is very convenient to have the meals there in the down town with little bit of shopping. Kahil is another destination where you can enjoy the sand dunes over there with some fun activities over the sands but only during the winter times.
