I recently had the pleasure of staying at Olivia's Hill in Durres and it was an exceptional experience. The service was top-notch, with attentive and friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. The rooms were great, spacous and very clean providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The pool area was a highlight, offering a tranquil oasis to unwind. The location was good and quiet. Olivia's Hill provided a perfect blend of comfort, relaxation, and outstanding hospitality. We enjoyed every moment during our stay and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Durres. Note: This review is based on my personal experience and reflects my honest opinion.

It' s a small familly business ran by a wonderful family who is always smiling at you, always there for anything you might need from 5 am till midnught! . Luciano, the son, knows English and is well mannered young man, super nice and polite, and his parents are super nice people as well. Even though my mom doesn't speak English just like his parents, the three of them managed to communicate easily ☺️

    The staff is what makes the stay absolutely delightful. Private parking is available, just make sure you arrange it with the hotel as soon as you book. Location is great, just a 2-4 minute walk from multiple beaches, rooms are brand new, super clean, beds are comfortable, sheets smelled amazing. During our stay there was construction going on, a lift was being installed which is always nice. The hotel being too new was the reason not having a lift during our stay but it wasn’t a problem at all. We requested a nicer room if possible and they gave us the one on the corner with 2 balconies which was beautiful.

    The beaches are quite crowded as this is a popular destination due to the easy ferry access from Corfu and Italy. Coming from Australia we are not used to sitting on pebbled beaches for long periods. We stayed seven days and, in that time, visited Gjirokaster and the Blue eye (day tour with Rei Tours), Butrint and Ksamil. We probably could have done all that in 5 days as well as relaxing in Sarande.

    Fantastic beach, the sea is safe and is perfect for swimming. Modern Beachfront bars & Cafe culture. Every Restaurant we visited was perfect food - so I recommend to try all. Shopping is a 2 stop bus ride into town easily accessible. And local shops/ bakery/ fresh fruits are just a street away from the relaxing sea front areas. Brilliant Town planning. The sea front is Fantastic anytime of day or night. For walking, relaxing, cycling, brilliant sunsets .... Places of interest the monastry and historic sites close by are worth visiting. I felt very safe everywhere I visited. The locals are lovely, welcoming friendly and helpful. Everyone presents a good atmosphere people are happy and welcoming.

    The beaches are extremely beautiful and clean. Renting sunbeds/umbrellas can be quite pricy. If you go in the afternoon they would charge you the same price on some beaches. Driving in Ksamil can be quite hectic. The streets are quite narrow and not all the streets have pavements and on streets where they are present either they are taken up by shops or else the people do not use the land walk in the middle of the road. Be careful if you are driving there especially during rush hour and parking is not easy. The restaurants are really good. We tried a lot of them and the food is delicious and most of them have very reasonable prices. We were always treated nicely from the staff.

    Durres is a city of contrast from the Roman ampitheater to the beach, pool and shopping. Tasting the fresh fish from one of the seafront restaurants is a must but make sure you also fill up on byrek and sufflaqe! Pelikan has lots of amazing cakes for sweet treats, Tropikal resort has an amazing pool you can use for the day (1000leke) and the market is a hidden gem for bargains. The bus from the beach at Plepa along to the city Center gets VERY busy but for 40leke saves the stress of driving and trying to park and everywhere is then just a short walk. We love Durres and will be back.

    Drymades beach town is only worth visiting for the beach - which is amazing. Smallpeeble beach with clear clean water. Noting to see og do in the besch area. Only restaurants, minimarkets and beachbars. No shops or small streets. The restaurants are in general overpriced compared to other areas in Albania and the food and service does not follow the high prices. Go here for the beach for max 3 days

    After almost 2,000 km traveled by car in nearly 30 hours due to countless traffic jams, we managed to arrive home without other problems, but of course extremely tired—yet with beautiful memories, to which you also contributed with your kindness and the valuable advice you gave us. We learned, with your help, that Albania is a beautiful country, still in a period of reconstruction, full of wonderful and hardworking people, always ready to help you with everything they can. But perhaps the most important thing is that they have not forgotten that Romanians and Albanians have been, and still are, brothers. We are connected by both past and present. The first thing that surprised us about our host was the outstanding cleanliness we found inside the apartment. The kitchen was perfectly equipped with absolutely everything necessary, air conditioning in every room as well as in the kitchen, clean bed sheets, immaculate white towels, etc. It has happened to me to stay in luxury hotels and not find this level of perfection. About the hosts, we have only words of praise. Even before our arrival, they checked if we were all right, if anything had happened, and during our entire stay they were always there for us—at any hour—through WhatsApp and even through Mr. Nardi himself coming to the apartment in person, even though they live quite a distance away. We were pleasantly surprised that we even had free sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach. At our departure, they even offered to help us if we needed anything. Sincere congratulations to these people who once again showed us that Albanians are people with big hearts, always ready to help you as long as you respect them and come with good intentions to their country.

    The owner was very responsive.

    The owner was very responsive. The apartment had everything from kitchenware to WiFi ,free parking and quiet area. It is very close to Vlora city and Rradhima. The closest beach is 2-minutes driving, or 7-10 minutes waking.

    The owners seemed to make the effort to provide with help and assistance, despite the lack of quality in the aspects below. For the price you pay in high season which was 45 EUR per night, of course you don't expect luxury, but some basics should be in place: - 1st of all, the photos used in Booking.com were all from the 2nd building they manage, and don't correspond with the room booked at least on 50%. - the power plugs were a hazard to be aware(when you're travelling with a toddler). - the electric stove provided was almost at half meter height, a constant danger for toddlers. - the air con could be put on only by plugging in the plug and it was configured to the coldest temperature, very annoying to deal with it during the night. - hygiene could've improved: closet was dirty on the top, full of dust, the bathroom super-small. - when I asked for a sponge and dishwashing lotion, the owner told me that I was the 1st ever to ask for that. What? You put a kitchen.

    Qeparo is a charming little village with a lovely "shetitore...

    Qeparo is a charming little village with a lovely "shetitore" (promenade) perfect for evening walks along the beach. The village stretches along the coast, offering breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters, though you'll need to walk a few steps to reach the shore. We had no trouble finding a sunbed without reservations, and the food was delicious and fairly priced—highly recommend restaurants Poseidon and Te Stefi! The only downside was the lack of trash bins along the promenade, which left the walking path a bit messy. This is definitely an area that could be improved. Overall, a peaceful, beautiful spot with great food and friendly vibes.
