- From $380.26 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 384 reviewsI'll start with the awesome location - quiet, inside the mountain, wonderful views everywhere you look, clear air, clean water. The room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and in the room there was a nice wardrobe with plenty of space for your luggage. The room was very well designed and equipped with attention to every single detail - well done! And now - last but not least - the staff was amazing - helpful, professional, friendly. If I can give 10 out of 10 for the hotel, the staff that works there added additional 10 on top of the overall rating - Thank you guys! Whoever is the manager in the hotel - you build awesome team - the staff you have is a real treasure! PS - for someone who's looking for the parking details - parking is underground with plenty of spaces (1 space for each room/accomodation) and plenty of space to maneuver with large SUVs. There are a lot of parking spaces with dedicated electrical charging station. There was even a dedicated space where you can leave your personal bicycle (if you bring your own bicycle).Guest review byIvayloBulgaria
- From $186.14 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 96 reviewsThe room was huge, and the bed, design, colors, and materials were all very relaxing. The multiple large windows gave us breathtaking views. Breakfast was wonderful--everything homemade, locally produced, and fresh. The family offered to make us something in addition to the extensive breakfast spread. They were patient with our language barrier (we only know rudimentary German at this point). The family are very environmentally conscious. These are great people who have a very special inn. And two very sweet kitties :)Guest review bySarahUnited States

All day food and drinks are included in the price. Variety of good food. Indoor swimming pool, sauna. Bike rental shop next door. Free parking. There is a lot to do in the neighborhood even in the summer, plenty of paths to hike and bike and other sport activities.Guest review byEdytaNetherlands

The village and the surroundings are beautiful, good food in the restaurants. We missed a cafe open in the morning :). The church and its surroundings are incredibly beautiful and well-kept: no wonder it is the symbol of the village.Guest review byBorbálaHungary - 8.0

Matrei and the surrounding countryside mirror the pictures that are seen of Austria: it is beautiful. The town has two grocery stores and a very helpful tourist information center. It also has an interesting museum and a reasonable choice of restaurants.. We ate our evening meal in the hotel across the street ( where the breakfast included is eaten) and the food was good. Easy access from the main highway.Guest review byAlexandra - 10.0

First we overnight at Wurlerhof Pensión with breakfast. Excellent accommodations, great bathroom with warm towels. Austrian humble and loving hospitality with breakfast included. Homemade mermelade, bread, own hen eggs. A dream. Then went up for the experience, that connection of solitude and power at Grossglockner.Guest review byJacquelineUnited States - 10.0

If you ever go to visit Heiligenblut, please drive the Grossgluckner Hochalpenstrasse and visit the Kaiser Franz Josefs Hohe. Park your car and go find some murmeltieren. I had the best day of my life with some carrots and the friendly murmeltieren.Guest review byHilliëtteNetherlands - 6.0

Nice small town. They have supermarkets and a bus stop. For us it was our starting and end point of the Venediger Höhenweg. You need some planning to get to the right place by bus. Nice connection to the train station in Kitzbühel and Lienz. Also you can get by bus to the Matreier Tauern Haus and Ströden. Hitchhiking is also possible.Guest review byLieke - 10.0

We were on a driving holiday visiting the high alpine passes. The Grossglockner road tool booth is five minutes away and opens at 5:30am; we left the hotel at 5:25am and were there as it opened. The hotel was welcoming, clean and as advertised. We ate at the hotel, having been up to the Edelweißspitze (the toll is reduced after 6pm, so we arrived and went up before dinner). Some rooms overlook the main road, so you might want to request a room on the other side of the hotel if the noise of the occasional vehicle bothers you.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0
