FAQs about hotels in Tyrol
A Ski Heaven In the Heart of Alps
One of the top European ski destinations, the Austrian Tyrol is divided into 2 parts: a larger North Tyrol with the region’s capital Innsbruck, and a smaller East Tyrol. Its pristine beauty and a variety of activities make it a haven for outdoor lovers.
Whether you’re into skiing, hiking or mountaineering, the Tyrol provides both great facilities and conditions so you can enjoy your favourite activity to your heart’s content. Its most famous ski resort, Ischgl, is part of the world’s largest ski area and offers 238 km of well-prepared pistes, vibrant nightlife and annual concerts from pop stars.
For something more low-profile, visit the resorts of St Anton or Kitzbuhel, both equally popular, with a lot of ski lifts, slopes ranging from easy to difficult, and cable cars. In summer, make use of the mountain bike paths and great hiking trails.
Innsbruck is the Tyrol’s only city and as well as being a wintersports centre capable of hosting the Winter Olympics twice, it’s also a cultural and educational city, with a world-renowned university and a variety of events. You can admire the stunning mountain views from the cosy cafés and bars of which Innsbruck has plenty.
So whether you’re looking for a stylish chalet, a fully-equipped apartment or luxury Tyrol hotels, Booking.com has over 4100 different properties on offer to make your stay perfect!

We were transiting to Italy but were unexpectedly pleased with the river and scenery so close to the town. The buildings in the town were interesting and it was a pleasure to walk around a city not filled with the ubiquitous shops now found in so many destinations.Guest review byValerieUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A full range of Alpine experience, from hiking to train...
A full range of Alpine experience, from hiking to train rides through the countryside. Built on a plateau, everywhere is within easy walking distance, and there are e-bikes to rent for a day. Village and mountan hostelries offer a wide range of eating experience and plenty of opportunity to enjoy traditional Austrian dishes, including an exquisite Applestrudel. The village is steeped in history, yet maintains a modern feel in shops. Most of the village centre is pedestrianised, offering stress-free ambles while samping the village ambience. During a 4-day stay, we were treated to a public rendition from a brass band, and wandered the Tuesday morning market full of local fare. A rainy day visit by train to the old town in Innsbruck complemented a wonderful stay all-round.Guest review byJamieSwitzerland - 10.0
I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years.
I've been to Mayrhofen many times over the years. On top of the magnificent views and mountains, I always recommend it particularly on the size of the town. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and hotels in the centre, which give plenty of options if you ever should get a bad weather day. If you are there for a few days, the Active Card is well worth getting. It includes all lifts, train and buses in the valley, so you can get about easily, trying other towns in the valley, without thinking of additional cost.Guest review byDarrenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Our stay in Sölden was delightful, with our hotel perfectly located near the ski lift. The phenomenal après-ski, especially at Giggijoch summit on Friday, made our visit thoroughly enjoyable and extra fun.Guest review byIris DrofnIceland - 6.0
Kitzbuhel is primarily a winter sports resort but also...
Kitzbuhel is primarily a winter sports resort but also attracts summer visitors. An evening band performance and afternoon childrens events in the Kurpark were welcome surprises as we had no prior knowledge they were taking place. The local (free) Tourist Card gives small price reductions on cable cars and some other attractions but, in stark contrast to neighbouring Salzburg Province, lacks rail and/or bus travel benefits. Kitzbuhel has two railway stations. We did not find a street map showing how to get to hotels at either, The rail station by the cable car is unstaffed. UK tourists were seen using the ticket machine to buy outward and return tickets, unaware that a group ticket (Einfach Raus) would have cost less. Kitzbuhel was one of 5 stops on a longer trip. It was not our favourite.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The skiing and views were amazing. Love spring skiing.
The skiing and views were amazing. Love spring skiing. The only issue is the ski town is slow and quiet because it is so late in the season. Id still do it again, bc spring skiing with alpine views are the best!Guest review byAprilUnited States - 10.0
Not sure Lienz is on traveller's radar.
Not sure Lienz is on traveller's radar. It's a must when travelling to Austria. Easy to get to by train from Germany and from within Austria. A small town easily navigated on foot. It's stunning. It was a shame the gondola was not operating though.Guest review byHelenAustralia - 4.0

We were placed in a complete other building, far away from check in, than expected, Every day we needed to take our car to the restaurant for having breakfeast ( my wife have psoriatic arthritis, and for her difficult to walk more than a few meters) the BAR and reception was closed in our building. The oven was not able to use and was first mentioned to us the day upon arrival. We were offered to eat free at the restaurant, but no drinking included ( should we then have brought our own drinking ? ) we dont have problems in paying but, normally our plan for this stay was to cook in our own facility, and then we wouldent have to pay for expencicve drinking. the only positive for us was the location (area) and the personel. Way to expencive for this kind of stayGuest review bylarsDenmark - 10.0
nice town.
nice town. Ideal base for early season hike (start of May) in Wilder Kaiser region. Most other places in vicinity are closed as main hiking season hasn't started yet. The local kaiserlift (chair lift) was open so takes you to start of good hikes..Guest review bymichaelIreland
