Extremely well located, simple and intuitive totem self checkin, modern style but still cozy overall atmosphere, looks newly renovated, big nice guests relaxing area with big eclectic library and even a piano, same in the rooms which are not big, but extremely well furnished (even an umbrella!) spotless bathroom and very comfy bed with high quality sheets and pillows.

The atmosphere is filled with friendship, kindness, patience, and above all, refinement. The rooms are stylish, elegant, and impeccably clean, equipped with everything you might need. On-site, there’s a restaurant and a cozy little bar where you can enjoy a quiet coffee or Sonnentor tea in the evening, surrounded by warmth and a family-like ambiance. Many thanks to the lady at the reception for her care and hospitality. There’s convenient parking and a charming, well-arranged courtyard area for smokers. Breakfast is delicious, varied, and generous. The bakery products are not just tasty—they’re delightful. Many, many thanks to the extremely kind and helpful staff. The hotel features a pool, and there’s a Spar supermarket just three minutes away, along with nearby restaurants.     This place is for Wine Lovers. I mean, if you do not drink wine, you will not appreciate this place the way we did. Family run, wine based hotel. Their wine production started in 1783 or something like this, and the family tree is proudly displayed on the wall. Upon arrival we have tried 5 wines. There was a sect for breakfast (which we could not enjoy as we were driving on). You can buy their wines -- after tasting -- or the next day, to make sure that you know what you are doing ;-) Very good breakfast. Staff speaks English. A lot more wine around ;-)))))))

    We loved everything. Gorgeous rooms, caring staff, beautiful grounds, walkable to all places in town, easy drive to neighboring wine areas. Quite like Mailberg to stay in general, if you want to go to the wine regions around! Schloss Mailberg is special though, they made our anniversary so lovely. Queer friendly. Dog friendly. This place goes above and beyond to give their guests an amazing stay.

    Poysdorf is in the middle of the Lower Austrian wine-growing...

    Poysdorf is in the middle of the Lower Austrian wine-growing area "Weinviertel" (i.e. Wine Quarter), which specializes in white wines, although the red ones are also very tasty. I can recommend a wine-tasting session (10 different wines) at one of the "Heurigen" wine cellars. The (large) meat, sausage and/or vegetarian platters furnish a necessary "foundation" for all the alcohol. But the non-alcoholic grape juices are lovely too.

    After a 90km bike ride, we walked up to the castle.

    After a 90km bike ride, we walked up to the castle. It was worth it, the view is great, the castle is beautiful. Stag beetles were flying in the air and we met a family of owls in a hole in the castle wall.
