The marina was amazing and the people in the shops and restaurants were friendly and had suggestions for eating out. We found a lovely cafe for lunch and then enjoyed a delicious dinner at Buoys. In the morning, we had breakfast at a gorgeous cafe located in a home wares store. A few purchases were made here. There is paid parking in the main streets for one hour so moving the car was the only issue with spending more time shopping and exploring the town. In warmer weather we would explore the water activities. Worth the trip off the motorway for Nelson Bay when travelling between Brisbane and Sydney.Guest review bySusanAustralia - 10.0

We liked our villa, very comfortable, the camp kitchen was the best we have seen. The grounds and amenities were great, reception staff very friendly. We did not find anything to complain about. We had some great meals close to the holiday park. Easy walking to the shops in the Main Street .Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The owners have a wonderful guide book of everything you can do in and around Salamander Bay. Use their suggestions - Its detailed and a great way to finding the best food, best walks, bakeries, coffee shops, best play areas for children and things to do in wet weather. They haven't missed a beat in this guide book! We had a wet week so went ten pin bowling, movies, Soldiers point Bowling Club which has a fantastic play area for kids. Two Bobs bakery in Nelson Bay is fab and Atmos for lunch in Shoal Bay is the best for a sunny day eating great Greek food and watching the Bay glisten in the sun - perfect for long lunches!Guest review byTREACYAustralia - 8.0

I liked that we had the beach so handy, even though it was winter, and hubby played putt putt, and we enjoyed a hit of tennis. We were warm and cosy in our cabin, but I would like to visit in Spring or Autumn when its a little warmer to have BBQ's and sit outside at the Cafe. Overall a nice spot to stay, and handy to other activities, amenities and sightseeing.Guest review byKrisAustralia - 4.0
The property does not deserve a 8.1 rating.
The property does not deserve a 8.1 rating. Could not use the shower or the air conditioner due to there below poor condition, including foul smell. Beds were terrible. Motel was cramped with terrible parking. It was a very unpleasant stay, we couldn’t wait to leave.Guest review byJodieAustralia - 10.0

We loved Sir Francis Drake accommodation the best and all its facilities. We also loved going to woollies as it was just 4minutes away. We enjoyed the hotel food and a few take aways from KFC AND MACDONALDS which was just across the road. we found it easy to get around as we have our car, however getting a taxi is just a call away, but Didi was a bit difficult to get.Guest review bysalota - 8.0

Loved the location of Bannisters which is right across the road from the Bowling Club and down below Bannisters is the sailing club where you can get a coffee overlooking the water. There are quite a few restaurants nearby and Holberts Prawn and Oysters are a few minutes drive away.Guest review byCharlesAustralia - 10.0

Karuah was a great place to get to and experience what it has to offer. Access was easy for everything. The RSL offered a good array of meals and the price was reasonable. I note that there was also a Pizzeria in Karuah - maybe we will try that next time.Guest review byGayleAustralia - 10.0
So much to see and do.
So much to see and do. The people of Fingal Bay and surrounds take great pride in their towns, everything is so clean and well maintained. The views are amazing, lots of places to enjoy good food or a cocktail. Do yourself a favor and head to Fingal Bay and surrounds! Must do is a trip out to Tea Gardens on the Original Tea Gardens Ferry. Kerry the captain is full of information and daily the dolphins swim on the side of the ferry on the trip across the beautiful waters. Another must do is a trip to Anna Bay Sand Dunes and ride the camels, have breakfast or lunch at The Crest Cafe at Birubi Beach while you're there.Guest review byJacquiAustralia - 10.0

We love taking our dog on holiday with us - so Anna Bay has a big dog friendly beach which also has shallow end. The "locals" were all really friendly, relaxed and gave helpful suggestions. Good pub , pizza place, fish n chips n hamburger joint. Ideal for really relaxed casual holidayGuest review byDeniseAustralia
