Don't spend more than a day in this city.
Don't spend more than a day in this city. We went with a vastly open mind, bu the city shut it tightly. Its not pretty. Honestly, we were back there 4 times, and let me assert, it was 3 times too often. There is traffic, which will numb you brain. Totally and utterly impossible to comprehend that 10km can take 90 mins. Its a city yes, but its gigantic and not appealing - it has the charm of a concrete fish. Its the amazon made of cement and motar. Those 24 million people, are all around you, living in towering blocks of endless flats. Check out the cathedral, some of the museums, the botanical gardens (which are in desperate need of love), and the zoo, and you're pretty much done, especially if you have kids. Good luck.Guest review byDiscover_moreSouth Africa - 10.0
I think that Rio de Janeiro is one of the most beautiful...
I think that Rio de Janeiro is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I have visited Rio more than 10 times in my life and I have never had a bad time. I think that my consistent positive experiences have a lot to do with which neighborhoods and beaches I choose to visit, and what kind of activities I partake in that help to keep me safe. I usually stay in Ipanema, and I never stay in Copacabana or visit Copacabana Beach. In addition, I try to be hyper-aware of my surroundings when I am in public, especially at night. I stay away from large crowds, and I never get intoxicated in public. I never wear jewelry or expensive/designer clothes in public, but I do wear simple clothes that don't attract attention. I never put or hold my cell phone anywhere that a thief can easily grab it and run away. And I NEVER put my cell phone in my back pocket... -that rule applies to most major tourist cities in the world (Paris, Madrid, Rome, Rio, etc.) because pick-pockets will try to take it. It's true that Rio can be a dangerous place, but if you follow basic commons sense rules you can significantly lower your risk and have an amazing time. Remember that most thieves/criminals are lazy and are looking for easy targets, -so follow the basic rules and the thieves/criminals are likely to ignore you.Guest review byvincentUnited States - 10.0
Great city.
Great city. It has the same issues other cities have(traffic, noise, dirt...), but it feels nice to go out to so many different bars. Great foods! Nice family areas in a few parks(Mangabeiras, Municipal, Pampulha...) Jack Rock Bar is awesome!Guest review byRobertUnited States - 10.0

Despite being expensive, it is a Brazilian city that is well worth visiting because of the architectural, climatic and cultural contrast with the rest of the country. It has good leisure options, many options for culinaire and at some seasons of the year the cultural options are the highlight. The city is small, so don't expect all the services you would find in a metropolis, but it has more options than would be expected for a Brazilian city of 46k inhabitants.Guest review byVictor SennaBrazil - 10.0

I had a pleasant and memorable stay in Campinas, SP. The city offers a nice mix of urban comfort and cultural charm. The people were welcoming, and I enjoyed exploring the local restaurants and attractions. Everything was convenient, and overall, it was a great experience!Guest review byHusham ElbaloulaUnited Arab Emirates - 10.0
The room was spacious, as was the bathroom.
The room was spacious, as was the bathroom. I enjoyed having a coffee machine in the room and the 2 complimentary coffees and bottle of water. Also the snacks available to purchase 24 hours a day is a great option for those who need a late night snack. The airport shuttle is another fantastic idea and having English speaking staff is great and very helpful. Disliked · There was not anything I didn't like but suggestions for a personal preference to make a stay even better would be: 1) Some salad veggies for breakfast for those on vegetarian diets, lettuce cucumbers, peppers. 2) A scale, to weigh bags before heading off to the airport.Guest review byYusuf SheikSouth Africa - 10.0

Paraty is a historical town in the state of Rio de Janeiro but border with São Paulo. Streets of rocks (not cobblestones) and colonial architecture is everywhere. Paraty is not famous for its beaches because they are not Sand beaches but rather famous for its charm and restaurants.Guest review bySoraya - 6.0

There isn’t to do around the hotel, the city is just an inland city with lots of attractions for young people. The most of big supermarkets are far from the city center and the location of the hotel isn’t that safe as the most Brazilian cities.Guest review byAngelaBrazil - 10.0

The "Cidade dos Romeiros" has a good offer of cafés and restaurants, but they tend to be crowded in the evening. Get there earlier for dinner to avoid queues. The Pizzeria there (Tutti santi) has a good range of italian food. The staff, though friendly, tend to be slow during peak times and waiting for being served afetr being sat can be a nuisance. The vantage point on the other side of the highway (acessible through ski-like cable cars) is a must, especially to see the sunset above the sanctuary and river.Guest review byRonaldoBrazil - 8.0

I love Vitoria. It has many nice city beaches. The water is murky but if you like just to seat on the beach with all the convenienced of a big city, it's a nice place to be. Really nice beaches are south of Vitoria. You can enjoy here many nice cafes, beach bars and nice shopping. It's a relatively safe city. I am traveling alone and all I have experienced in Vitoria was a help and friendliness of the locals 😀Guest review byJolantaBrazil
