The facility exceeded our expectations as it was either recently renovated or expertly maintained, as it looked like a recently renovated room. It was very well thought out and had everything we needed. A very pleasant surprise! The breakfast was good.

This little roadside motel was charming, as were the owners! It's right on the shoreline with easy on and off the highway. Free and plentiful parking. The cottage room we stayed in was charming, with had good lighting, plenty of electrical outlets, good WiFi and all amenities that we needed. Kitchen was completely kitted out and even had an electric tea kettle, which we prefer for our hot tea, but is hard to come by in North American hotels and motels. The bed was firm, the bedding was clean and of nice quality. Plenty of hot water, outdoor deck with table and chairs. Our only lament is that we were there for one night. I told the owner I'd love to stay a week!

Great place to stay. There is a garage for our tandem and lots to see around the area.
That breakfast is simple and filling, just right to start the day.
We would make it a point to stay here again!

Charming village, with a special ambiance connected with the famous rock and Bonaventure Island. We highly recommend the boat ride to, around and from the island, and the trail hike across the island to witness les fous de Bassans (sea gulls). It is a fabulous experience.
There is a free (plus tip) van that you can get in front of the motel and ride into the center of the village, and return.

Matane has the friendliest folks in the entire province.
Matane has the friendliest folks in the entire province. Most tourists just drive through but there are places for kids, restos for the whole family,a marina to enjoy, a cinema, big stores and small artisanal boutiques. There is a really neat walkway along the river and a well-designed access to the water and beaches. For the naturalist there is a place t watch salmon going upstream.

We visited the Mic'Mac Museum just outside of town.
We visited the Mic'Mac Museum just outside of town. This was very interesting. Also Parc Forillon had exquisite views and was well worth visiting. In Gaspe, we ate at Brise Bise which had delicious food. The trip around the Peninsula is breathtakingly beautiful. Well worth it.

Nearby was a park and area where you could rent water sports equipment.
Pool was heated though across the road from
our room. Tennis court needs resurfacing .

Nice place if you want to spend time and visit the park.
Nice place if you want to spend time and visit the park. But if you are staying just for the night like us- stay away. Hidden fees for staying at the hotel. No one told us we had to pay for a park if you just sleep there. We did not walk around. But you can get into the park for free and walk around. So not happy about that.
Rooms were clean, food was good but more for people who are vegetarian. Service was great. Front desk service was OK.

We spent two nights in the area and we enjoyed walking on the beach, the Exploramer museum, boat excursion, and agate mine. The boat tour was a highlight. The kids got to learn about and handle crabs, a lobster, and starfish. We had icecream (twice!) at Coleurs Chocolats.

Cap-des-Rosiers is a nice little place right in Forillion National Park. Although the village lacks in close breakfast restaurants, there is a very good cantine close to the lighthouse, for lunch and dinner. The national park has many hiking trails close by for all levels of hikers and the views are stunning.

View of the sea and outdoor space were very nice; the small room we booked was as expected, suitable for a one night stay… equipped with a lot of thoughtful extras that made it a comfortable stay! Would book this motel again and recommend to others.

We stated 2nights only so we didn't have time to explore much and the weather wasn't cooperating. Next time, we would stay longer but probably in the Gaspe area so we can be closer to the hiking trails.
