CanadaIt was all about the location. Beautiful historic hotel. Easy parking and check-in. Room is small and redone and lacks the history of the place. Walking distance to everything you need plus the beautiful boardwalk around the point where you can see belugas. The gardens on the property are spectacular. We didn’t use the pool, but it looked lovely. The beach is right there. And the walk around the point is reflected in the pictures of the rocks and water.

The place is actually a refugee farm for saved animals who can't be released into the wild. It was a rare chance to see the animals really close, to feed them and to visit them in a different time - in the morning and in the evening. They have those fascinating animals like silver fox and white wolves and cute canadian animals: a lynx, a porcupine, a marmot and racoons. It was a really great experience! The house had nearly everything we needed. We arrived very late, at 22:30 and still entered the place because of clear instructions. The animal visiting and feeding was free for those who stay on the farm.

We have travelled from Europe so this wonderful woodland tree house was a real change and a treat for us. The location was easy to find and very beautiful. The room was clean, warm and comfortable with stunning views into the woods, the trees were changing colour so it was multicoloured, yelllow through orange and some green pines. The accomodation was as described, incredibly clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, easily one of the best on this trip.

Everything and it was a great location, next to a great restaurant within walking distance and close to town. The staff was very friendly and there was a lady who spoke English. The receptionist who checked me in was so friendly and happy to see my checking in to the hotel. No doubt, I would stay there again. The pillows were very comfortable.

My visit was to ski at Mont Ti-Basse.
My visit was to ski at Mont Ti-Basse.
Great place to learn how to ski and practice ski racing.
Good place to spend a day if you are OK with small local style ski area.
Check before visiting to see if all runs are open and all lifts ( 4) are operational.
The St Pancrase brewery and restaurant are great.
Unfortunately Covid shut down restaurants for this visit.

Beautiful views.
Beautiful views. Friendly people, regardless of whether you speak French or English. If you come in winter, you will find the place charming, empty of tourists and very relaxing, but do not expect many accommodations. There was only restaurant, one microbrewery and one small store open in the vicinity during our stay in December.
If you come in summer, you will find many accommodations, but the place becomes very crowded, with tourists.

Good for a night, Forestville is a drive-through town with lots of grocery stores, car repair shops and hotels. Forestville is not really on the ocean, so if you want proper views I'd suggest drive further south towards Les Escoumis.

The best place to get accommodated if there are less options...
The best place to get accommodated if there are less options at Tadoussac. It is calm, safe and perfectly surrounded with all the essentials like gas station, grocery shops, pharmacy, restaurants, ice-cream shops, etc. It's well-accessible from both Tadoussac and Saguenay. Staying here provides a great alternative to reach Quebec City (via Saguenay) especially when the ferry (route 138) at Tadoussac takes so long.

Lots of cute coffee places and restaurants within easy walking distance, altho there are some hills. Whale watch with AML was fun. Whale museum was informative. Light hikes/ walks along the shoreline. If you take the bus, note there are no taxis in town to go to the hillside bus stop. You can walk, but it might be too strenuous for some. There may be others but I am only sure that a shuttle is offered to guests of the historic Hotel Tadoussac. Really enjoyed coffee on the sunny porch of Abri Côtier, very close to Hotel Tadoussac. Food was good at Chez Mathilde and there was music the night I went. Cafe Bohème had a good mussel/frites dish. Located next door to the only supermarket I found. Cooler in Tadoussac than in Quebec City.

Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery. Parking is much too expensive, but the town is small enough to walk everywhere. The whales didn't show up. For a tourist town, too many signs are French only with no English translations!
