- From $172 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 940 reviewsWe’ve stayed in Punta Leona before and we were so impressed we went back. The room was spotless. Bathroom impeccable. Gardens we’re well kept and clean. Breakfast was fabulous. Restaurants had great food for lunch and dinner. Kids had a blast!!! Pools were all super clean. The beach, Playa Blanca, was fantastic. We saw soooo many animals: toucans, raccoon, iguanas, a sloth!!!!, red macaws, the butterfly farm, armadillo!!!! Staff everywhere were extremely helpful polite and friendly. We checked out feeling relaxed and de- stressed.Guest review byAnesaCosta Rica
- From $410.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 969 reviewsThe view was absolutely stunning! We visited two restaurants, "La Galeria" and "La Fragata". The latter boasted an incredible sea view that was truly breathtaking, and the food at both establishments was outstanding. The staff was all very friendly, and it was a nice touch that they offered complimentary transportation to and from "Espadilla Beach". One area for improvement would be the early closure of the family pool at 8 PM, which seems a bit too early.Guest review byChristian L.Peru

We just loved this park.
We just loved this park. In a little more than a ½ day we walked all the trails except the closed one. We stopped for an hour in the café -- which is enclosed in a cage to prevent the animals from coming in! That was the first time I had a drink in a cage. The trails are great and we saw lots of wildlife on our own, including a toucan and a sloth (only saw it on our way out!). The beaches are beautiful too. The only issue is parking. I can't tell what's official and what isn't, and at the hotel they warn you your car can be damaged if you just try to park wherever rather than in their lots. We parked somewhere and paid (talked him down) but I'm not sure it was official. No issues with our car though. Highly recommend this park!Guest review byEllenUnited States - 8.0
If you like cooler temperatures, rainy & windy mountains in...
If you like cooler temperatures, rainy & windy mountains in remote Costa Rica then this is for you. Its a unique experience to be that high up above sea level and theres plenty to do outside between coffee tours, ziplines & hikes. But in terms of the town itself, theres not a lot going on and its expensive but I guess thats what you pay for tranquility & remoteness. And if you're driving up there you better have a 4x4 or AWD vehicle because the majority of the roads up here are unpaved & windy AF. Spots to check out that made our trip: Don Juan Coffee Farm, the Butterfly Sanctuary, El Tigre Waterfalls, Kinkajou Night walk, 100% Aventura Ziplines for the longest Zipline in Latin America & lastly tree climbing at Finca Modelo. If you want to try authentic Costa Rican food (because hello why not!) skip out on the expensive restaurants and go to Pizzeria 3R y el Sazón de Mary - best part is that they're open late. Food was bomb! Overall, I wouldn't spend more than 2.5 days up here.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Preferably visit on the whale watching season, and reserve a tour days before so you not lose the chance of this lovely experience, I recommend Bahía Ballena Kayaks & Tours. Beach is beautiful and relaxing, check the tide hours son you can walk to Whale's tale in low tide, and also have like 200 meters of beach to enjoyGuest review byLuis Felipe - 10.0

I go there to do dental work at Crystal Dental, as their prices are 2-3 times cheaper than in the USA and the quality is better, they speak English and have German equipment. I do not care about touristy stuff, I did it on my first visit many years ago. You can take buses for daytrips. Tours with agencies are very expensive and geared for young athletic people. I wish there was a sightseeing tour for the whole day on a bus to take pictures without any hiking or horse-riding.Guest review byAnonymousGreece - 8.0
Well, the beach is beautiful, and the sunset is spectacular.
Well, the beach is beautiful, and the sunset is spectacular. However, the main road is a complete disaster. There is no pavement, the dust is overwhelming, and the road infrastructure is almost nonexistent.Guest review byLuis RuizCosta Rica - 6.0

I like most of the food was pretty good. The pools were very active for socializing at the swim up bar If you’re going for relaxation, it’s a place to go. You just wanna lay in the sun. Read a book and relax.Guest review bywandaCanada - 8.0

Quepos itself is a little rough, but Manuel Antonio is a gem. Be wary of all the hustlers on the beach. Would have liked to go fishing but the prices for charters were steep. Great eateries. I forgot the name but the seafood restaurant before the bridge into town was excellent.Guest review byGeorgeUnited States - 4.0

This is basically a cruse ship harbor and not much to do in low season. A few bars and stores open. A lot of tour is not given due to no crusie ship arriving in this time of the year. Also, extreme weather resultet in that most tours from Puntarenas was cancelled. If you are planning a vaccation, you should choose another city such as Jaco or Uvita. Very easy to take a 2-3 hour bus shuttle from San Jose, terminal 7-10 for a few dollars.Guest review byKristofferCosta Rica - 8.0

Puerto Jiménez served as a rest-over before going to, and when coming from a trip to Corcovado Nat'l Park. We were able to take and ride bikes from the hotel to restaurants and to look around (the walkway to the pier was torn up so we had to go the long way around and the bikes came in super handy). The staff was friendly and could answer all our questions.Guest review byBarbaraUnited States - 8.0

There were people from all parts of the world in one little town. It is worth exploring the surrounding areas, because the actual town of Montezuma is rather small. There are different dining and lodging options for all tastes and budgets. The town/beach is at the bottom of a very steep hill, and getting up and down could be a challenge for walkers.Guest review byCarlosCosta Rica
