The National Park was Great. If you decide to go, spend the money and hire a guide. Our guide pointed out and provided a capability to photograph an amazing number of animals, insects, and plants we never would have noticed on our own.
Wow, Manuel Antonio is one of the most beautoful places in Costa Rica. When I've been in the past the crowds deterred me, but during the pandemic when it's almost empty, it's a true treat! I get to go to a national park THIS beautiful without other tourists?? Is this heaven?? Don't miss this opportunity!
This park is the best national park I've been to in Latin America. Clean beaches, wonderful animals and great trails. Be sure to check out at least one of the beaches since tourists with families tend to congregate in one area while another beach close by can be practically empty. Be aware that monkeys and raccoons are very tame and take clothing, bags and backpacks without warning. Put all of your items in a closed bag up tied to a tree branch before going into the ocean.
Before you leave home go to the bank and get a good amount of five ,ten and one dollar bills. These small bills are easily used for cabs that will take you to and from dinner. (cab fare is 5-6$ each way from Manuel Antonio) and for additional tips when you're out for dinner. (They add 10% gratuity to your bill). They are also used on the beach for snow cones, ice cream etc. The cab drivers and local vendors often do not have change for large bills so having small bills will come in handy.
Beautiful! Gorgeous beaches, laid back vibe, friendly local people, and delicious food. We went out one night to a bar (I don't recall the name unfortunately) and had a great time, but also enjoyed our active days - hiking around the national park, kayaking the mangroves.
I love the area, it is extremely beautiful, but the prices have gotten out of hand. $20 to enter the National Park that is very crowded with tourists. Absurdly high food and drink costs ($30 for MahiMahi or Tuna at el Avion, $28 for fish & chips & a beer at a roadside bar).
If you are looking To go to the beach and Manuel Antonio National Park and would like to park once then this is the place to be. It is located a block from both locations and many restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. The building is clean and picturesque. I enjoyed breakfast and dinner there each day. I would definitely return with my family.
Originally planned to stay only two nights, but ended up staying a week because we liked the place so much! Staff are polite, attentive, and all around helpful. Facilities and setting are have an awesome jungle vibe. Location is perfect for wildlife viewing and close to the beach. Food at the restaurant was fantastic! Amazing place to stay all around!
The location was perfect! The pool was right outside our room, the beach is a very short walk, and Manuel Antonio is another 10 minute walk. Really wish we could have stayed more than one night. We also ate at the falafel bar nearby and it was delicious. Would definitely stay here again!
