Quirky hotel with automated check-in that works great. If you are on the autobahn and need a good night's sleep - stay here. Parking is free during the night hours only, so be careful. The size of the room is larger than usual, great facilities overall. Everything works, no fuss. The surrounding area is very pretty.

Space for breakfast was limited so the hotel asked guests to choose a time "slot". This worked well. The location was delightful - beside a small, tree-lined square on which a cafe and two bars served food and drinks to (mostly) locals. The weather was good, so we walked everywhere.

The location is excellent - on a central street, within walking distance if everything, including the fantastic Christmas markets! Although in a busy area, the soundproofing is great, so we found it very quiet once inside. Staff are friendly and helpful. We arrived early, so we’re able to store our luggage while we explored some of the city. After returning, we found our luggage had been taken to our apartment for us. The decoration and facilities are superb. Very cosy inside. It’s also a short walk to the main train staition (we visited Bamberg one afternoon) and the nearest underground station is closer station (visited Fürth Christmas markets and old town using the U-Bahn). All in all a great stay!

I had an absolutely delightful stay at Parkhotel 1901! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality and attention to detail were evident. The staff was warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with any needs, ensuring a truly personalized experience. The rooms were immaculate, spacious, and tastefully decorated, perfectly blending modern amenities with classic charm. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and the peaceful ambiance, which made for a restful stay. The on-site facilities were exceptional, and the dining options were a standout. The serene surroundings and beautifully maintained grounds added to the charm of the property. Overall, Parkhotel 1901 exceeded all expectations, making my stay unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a combination of comfort, elegance, and top-notch service. I look forward to returning on my next trip!

The room was nice and spacious. Great view towards the hill and the interior garden. The staff was very pleasant, always with a smile and ready to help. The hotel's location is very convenient to reach the old town, as well as the zoo (30 mins walk in both directions). And the greatest of all was the restaurant. The breakfast was very varied, one could choose anything from eggs to cereals with milk. The dinner menu was excellent, we ate there 3 nights in a raw and were not disappointed. Also the restaurant employees were very nice and accommodated all our requests.

Pool very nice (we used the indoor one, but they also have two outdoor ones!). Staff very friendly and accommodating - hotel does not have a “Ruhetag” (important as the location, while lovely, is rather remote) but has a more restricted menu & hours one day a week instead. We were there on this day, but there was still sufficient choice and the waitress prepared some ice cream for us after the kitchen had closed, despite being very busy.

It an old city with a lot of history.

It an old city with a lot of history. The city center has nice affordable restaurants and a lots of shops. The medieval city walls and gates are still there. My wife went shopping, and I went to the monuments of WO2, which are still there in a big park. Public transport is great and affordable. You can get a day ticket for all buses, trams and Metro's/U-bahn in the app, or at the machines in the U-bahn station.

This was our second visit in just over 2 years to Heidelberg. We stayed in a hotel the other side of the Hbf, but it is a bit of a hike to get to the other side of town. The main street is worth visiting by day and by night, as are the various squares just off, and the main squares before the castle comes into view. There are numerous excellent food options, from bakery to fast food to much more upmarket options. The castle is worth a visit. Take the furnicular up and walk back down. The views are good, the history is interesting and there is a decent amount to see when you're up there. The wine barrels are something else. We thought that the first barrel was the big one, but then walked around the corner! The riverside is nice and a boat trip is good to see both sides from the river itself. Philosopher's Walk is worth heading over to the other side to see, as you have excellent views of the castle and there's a bit to see up there. A hint if you're ever there for the annual fireworks: get yourself as close to the bridge on the other side of town or, more likely, pitch up very early up Philosopher's Walk. We had what we thought was a good vantage point, then all the pleasure boats went and parked at the riverbank in front of the hoardes. Lads, you have a whole river to yourselves! It was really selfish. The fireworks were excellent though and well worth taking a picnic and a beer along to! Overall, a lovely place to visit. We'll no doubt return for a Christmas market at some point.

We were taken to at least two eating places: One near the train station; The Curry House Restaurant where I had a taste of Pork and another restaurant, southern end of FAU Institute, we had very tasty Pizza. A surprising big-little city outside Nürnberg with a rich history. Architectural highlights from Art Deco. Walkable. Some beautiful churches.
